What Song Are You Walking Down the Aisle To?

by jaime on June 7, 2012

We’ve talked about a lot of important music, from the first dance to your Father Daughter dance and even Cake Cutting Songs… but let’s make this clear: there is NOTHING wrong with the standard Bridal Chorus. It’s what I’ll probably end up using, so why should I sass it?

But, for those of you looking for something fun and new, here are a handful of options that will change it up a bit – including a few reader recommended songs. I love my readers!

The song I’d pick – and many of you have mentioned – if I switched it up? “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz. It is so beautiful!

“Heartbeats” by Jose Gonzalez is hauntingly beautiful and a perfect song to follow you down the aisle. A few readers recommended it, and I’m a big fan of Jose’s “Crosses” – how could I say no?

How can you not love Rufus Wainwright? “April Fools” is a favorite song of mine, but for this, let’s take “Across the Universe” – this Beatles cover is a beautiful rendition that’s worthy of your bridal bliss.

A classic – and one recommended by reader Nicole – is La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf. But if you choose this song, you MUST do it in French. Learn the lyrics!

Another classic – and reader recommended! – is the fun and happy “Going to the Chapel” by The Dixie Cups. This is one of those songs where, if you chose it, you couldn’t help by grin ear to ear while walking down the aisle. Jess, I bet you had a fun wedding!

Alyssa wants to hear a guitar and violin version of Coldplay’s “Til Kingdom Come” for her walk down the aisle and, I have to say that I agree entirely. It’s sweet and beautiful – granted, the original is a bit too fast, but a modified version? So perfect.

Finally, a couple people mentioned this for a first dance song, but I can’t help but love it for the procession. I used to listen to Bright Eyes all the time, and “First Day of My Life” is nothing short of romantic genius. I adore it, and you might too.

What song did you walk down the aisle to? There are so many beautiful options to choose from, and so many ways to make your ceremony unique.

Don’t miss our awesome collection of violin covers – perfect for the walk down the aisle or our readers’ favorite wedding songs!

Amber June 7, 2012 at 1:48 pm

We chose “You & Me” by Dave Matthews. It has an instrumental break towards the end that’s the perfect timing for “Please stand for the bride” and then the big entrance!

jaime July 1, 2012 at 5:38 pm

We added your song to the readers’ favorites list! Check it out: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/28/wedding-songs-top-reader-recommended-songs-for-your-ceremony/

Erica June 7, 2012 at 2:52 pm

If you have never heard the Vitamin String Quartet, check them out! They have gorgeous renditions of rock and pop songs that just about anyone could appreciate. My best friend’s favorite song is “Iris” by the GooGoo Dolls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3po_jKauWjE) and every time I here VSQ’s version of it I tear up imagining her walking down the aisle. I’m hoping to walk down the aisle to their version of “Don’t Stop Believin” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0LKMo2cNPY) because my guy and I sang it at karaoke the first time we hung out.

jaime June 27, 2012 at 10:48 pm

Erica, thanks for the rec! I shared it on our latest music post: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

So great!

Allyce December 3, 2012 at 4:38 pm

We are getting married on July 13, 2013 and I will be having my brother playing Somewhere Under The Rainbow on the guitar with one of his friends.

Karen February 22, 2013 at 9:09 pm

I walked down the isle to Vitamin String Quartet playing “Sweet Disposition”. It was the perfect song for those moments seeing all of your loved ones all in one place, all at one time.

Ally June 9, 2012 at 5:05 pm

I walked down the aisle to Only Time by Enya. Not really for the words, but because the music is so beautiful and her voice sounds so whimsical or something haha.

Marissa @ Where I Need to Be July 8, 2012 at 9:40 am

I heard that song in yoga class and had a vision of myself walking down the aisle to it. But when I listened to the words started to second guess myself. I’m glad know someone else heard the same beauty in it that I did

Leah December 2, 2012 at 5:17 pm

I have thought about walking down to Only Time by Enya as well. But that song has a melancholy feeling for me because I played it at my brother’s memorial service when he died. So I have been thinking of walking down the aisle to Caribbean Blue by Enya instead. I think it’s absolutely beautiful.

Mary November 13, 2013 at 1:12 am

You Enya lovers who are sticklers about the lyrics should try Amarantine by Enya. Amarantine is gaelic for love and a beautiful Enya piece.

Lorraine Ramirez June 12, 2012 at 4:33 pm

I am getting married May 4th 2013 this is my song as I take that walk : When I say I Do by Matthew West

Desiree June 13, 2012 at 7:38 am

Great date! we were married on May 4, 1985 :)) Good luck for a long and happy marriage!

Rose June 14, 2012 at 10:16 am

This is such a beautiful song! I’ve never heard before and thanks for sharing!

Kaysha terry June 14, 2012 at 11:12 am

Im getting married on the same date and we are using that exact song. It is so beautiful.

Jenny June 18, 2012 at 2:44 pm

Nichole Racicot June 26, 2012 at 5:54 pm

Im getting married on the exact date as you and Ive never heard that song before its so beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Rachel July 17, 2012 at 2:40 pm

I’m getting married on May 4 2013 as well! My sister plays the uke and she will perform “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson. So excited!

Em August 3, 2012 at 7:39 am

May the fourth be with you!

Chelsea September 26, 2012 at 11:39 pm

That was my best friend and her husband’s first dance song. It is SO beautiful!

Analí Resoalbe November 1, 2012 at 11:11 am

Lorraine, that is such a beautiful song!… thx for introducing it to me *=D
Although we have already chosen our song for walking down the aisle, I guees this one will be played at least once during the wedding party..
God bless you and your future husband!

Nicole November 4, 2012 at 3:18 pm

I’m getting married on the fourth may 2013 too! I’m struggling to pick a song for our reception aisle! My aisle song is between shania twain – still the one or Edwina Hayes – feels like home!

Senem November 7, 2012 at 6:56 am

I am getting married on the same date as well!

Courtney Skates June 12, 2012 at 9:30 pm

We chose “When I Say I Do” by Matthew West for when I walk down the aisle next summer…I’ve hated the traditional wedding march my entire life.

Kindra August 9, 2012 at 9:06 pm

At what point in the song do you plan on making your grand entrance??

Brittany June 12, 2012 at 10:19 pm

We walked out to “All You Need Is Love” by the Beetles.

Julia June 28, 2012 at 11:44 am

And I walked down the aisle to “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles. :)

sarah March 30, 2013 at 3:44 pm

Ahhhhhhh…. i love this! awesome choice

Courtney June 12, 2012 at 10:46 pm

My bridesmaids walked down the aisle to “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, but the violin cover. And then I walk I walked down the aisle to “Halo” by Beyonce, but the violin cover. And then an instrumental cover of “Stuck like Glue” was the song we walked back down the aisle too as a married couple!

Cassie June 14, 2012 at 1:13 pm

I love Beyonce’s Halo and have always wanted to walk down the aisle to it! A violin cover would be perfect!! Where did you find it?

shanda July 23, 2012 at 5:25 pm

I’m considering just using the whole song. the first verse isn’t perfect for the aisle but her voice is so dramatic, it just makes it that much more amazing. I’m still not sure on this and the wedding is in a month… any opinions?

jaime July 23, 2012 at 6:00 pm

If you want to go with a violin version, there are a bunch on YouTube! I love this one the most: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQt5Wg22rYw

Good luck!

Anonymous October 19, 2012 at 10:09 am

I know you want a violin cover, but there’s a beautiful saxophone cover on YouTube, you should check it out!

Sara April 26, 2013 at 10:56 pm

Jaime, just listened to that link…so beautiful! I might have to go with this one! 😉

Chelsea March 30, 2013 at 9:47 am

Hey Courtney! Where did you find the instrumental cover of Stuck Like Glue? We also wanted to use that as our Recessional but I cant find it anywhere online! We love that song & thought it would be perfect for us. Let me know! Thanks!

Meegan June 13, 2012 at 4:19 am

I am getting married in December and will be getting a great friend to sing ‘marry me’ by train. Love that song!

Anglene July 17, 2012 at 7:55 pm

My friend just got married in June and she had her friend since that song! It was beautiful and the guy did an amazing job! I wanted to walk down the aisle to that song, but nothing can top someone actually singing it!

Shelley July 18, 2012 at 1:27 pm

I love that song also!! Other half is not fond though :( Still debating if I should go with it or not!!

Nicole June 13, 2012 at 4:33 am

I love heartbeats but it’s quite short. Do people have a different song for the bridal party to walk down then the brides song after?

jaime June 13, 2012 at 7:03 am

I’ve heard that happens a lot, Nicole – and really, it’s your day. You can do whatever you’d want!

Dani June 17, 2012 at 8:00 am

That is very common!

Laura June 27, 2012 at 7:59 pm

Yes a lot of people have a seperate song for the bride, and I like that best because it’s more dramatic for your entrance!

Ashley June 13, 2012 at 7:17 am

I walked down the aisle to “Everything” by Lifehouse. It was so powerful I cried the whole way down the aisle.

Ema September 20, 2012 at 5:45 am

The whole song Ashley? It’s really long!! But such a beautiful song

Michelle June 13, 2012 at 9:56 am

I walked down the aisle to “Marry Me” by Train. The song fit mine and my husband’s relationship perfectly.

meggie June 13, 2012 at 11:47 am

i love Pachelbel- Canon In D Major to walk down the isle to

Kelli July 10, 2012 at 11:56 pm

i got married August 8, 2009 and I walked down the aisle to Canon in D but with a Celtic twist. It was beautiful. I used classical music for all my processional music but all had a Celtic twist to celebrate my Irish heritage. It was very traditional but we used Michael Buble’s Everything for the recessional, pure fun after the vows!

frederika June 13, 2012 at 7:36 pm

I have only one song in mind for that day.. “quando nasce un amore” by anna oxa.

Karen June 13, 2012 at 8:40 pm

I will be walking down to Bruno Mars’ “Rest of my life” It has a perfect pace and the words are so perfect. I LOVE it!!

Casey June 20, 2012 at 7:59 pm

Where did you find this song? Its not on itunes, is there somewhere else it can be purchased or downloaded? I really want it too!!!

Ami September 26, 2012 at 12:18 pm

Karen, that is an amazing choice! I saw your post and looked it up and immediately fell in love. Thanks for the suggestion!

krystyna June 13, 2012 at 8:58 pm

i love love love the song “I Can’t Wait” by Runner Runner. the perfect song. would be AHDORABLE to walk down the aisle to, and first dance as well!

Shannon June 21, 2012 at 6:20 am

Aww I love that song!! that song was playing in the background when my fiance proposed. I’m finding an instrumental version of it so that I can walk down the aisle to it :)

Amber June 13, 2012 at 9:17 pm

It is Bolero by Ravel and at mark 3:13, i’m having a double door entrance.

Brittany June 13, 2012 at 9:58 pm

I thought i wanted marry me i have loved that song for ever but i heard everything by lifehouse and i got the chills. I think i just picked my song!

Yelena August 14, 2012 at 2:26 pm

We are actually using Everything as our first dance song! It has been “our sing” for 7 years now.

Haley June 13, 2012 at 10:54 pm

Marry you by Bruno Mars would be a nice wedding song. :)

Jacie June 14, 2012 at 2:07 am

I’m not married, or engaged, or dating…but I do have the song picked out! I want to walk down the aisle to mountain spring by barrage. It has a beautiful violin solo at the beginning, perfect music for bridesmaids and family to enter into, and a great cresendo leading up to a beautiful solo for the bride to walk down the aisle to. The only thing is i’ll have to shorten the end, it goes on for about 4-6 minutes….but other than that it’s PERFECT!

jaime June 14, 2012 at 10:22 am

This is beautiful – and you’re right about the timing. A little long overall but the pacing is perfect!

Monica June 14, 2012 at 8:20 am

I walked down the aisle to Ray Lamontagne’s “Can I Stay.” For the recessional we used Brother Iz’s (please don’t ask me to spell his last name) cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from the “50 First Dates” soundtrack.

Rachel June 14, 2012 at 8:51 am

We chose “You are so Beautiful” by Joe Cocker. It’s not too long. :)

Tiffany June 14, 2012 at 8:55 am

i am using Thank You by Led Zeppelin

Marissa June 14, 2012 at 9:06 am

I will be walking down to Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Wonderful Tonight…it’s mine and my fiance’s song. It makes me tear up everytime I hear it. Can’t wait!!! :)

Jennifer H June 14, 2012 at 10:52 am

My fiance & are are getting married April 13, 2013. The song I chose to walk down the aisle to is Train’s “Marry Me”. I cry when I hear it. :)

Monica June 14, 2012 at 1:58 pm

Perfect Silence by Wade Bowen, it’s the song I plan on walking down the aisle to!

Kerri June 14, 2012 at 2:31 pm

I walked down the aisle to “Annie’s Song” by John Denver. Still one of my favorite songs 33 years later.

Amanda G. January 31, 2013 at 2:37 am

We went to my fiance’s best friend’s wedding back in October. His bride walked down the aisle to that song with her mom. (Her bio dad died when she was 12.) There was a little note in the program stating that her mom wanted to walk down to that song at her wedding, but the church wouldn’t allow it. So her father sang it to her as he walked her down the aisle. After reading that, needless to say I was a blubbery mess during that procession. :-) Beautiful song.

Michelle June 14, 2012 at 2:53 pm

I am walking down to “Falling into God” by Jill Phillips.

Tara June 14, 2012 at 3:44 pm

I’m walking down to “Sunshine” by Steve Azar. It makes me tear up everytime I hear it. It’s fits us both perfectly.

Maggie June 14, 2012 at 4:42 pm

Stealing Romance by The Milk Carton Kids. It’s absolutely beautiful and perfect! I will be walking down to it on March 23rd, 2013!

I also considered Permanent by Milk Carton Kids
Do You Realize by Flaming Lips
Somebody Loved by The Weepies
Love You To Pieces by Jeremy Messersmith

jaime June 14, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Sounds like a perfect fit! I love that Flaming Lips song, too – and I hope you’ll share more about your wedding as it gets closer.

Good luck and happy planning!

Monica June 14, 2012 at 5:45 pm

I’m getting married in August and will be walking to “The Story” By Brandi Carlile. My fiance proposed to me at her concert during this song. We dated in high school, went our separate ways, and then reunited a few years ago.

jaime June 14, 2012 at 5:46 pm

I love Brandi Carlile – this sounds like a perfect choice!

I’d love to hear more about your wedding – good luck and happy planning!

Shannon June 19, 2012 at 8:45 pm

Monica –
your story is similar to mine… I married my high school sweetheart last Aug after we reconnected after 18 years!!! We only had a small ceremony so we’re having the big reception this Aug 4th (our 1 year anniversary). Our first dance will be to ‘The Story’. We live near Seattle not far from where Brandi is from. We saw her in concert at a “secret” show she did in Aug of 2008, early on in our relationship. LOVE HER!~ and the lyrics of ‘The Story’ give me chills because they are so true.

Good luck and Congrats

Kate Pierce April 5, 2013 at 12:34 pm

My fiance and I were thinking about walking down to that song. Was it difficult to walk down too because of the rock parts of it. Please help. My date is set for September 28th.

Lynn June 14, 2012 at 5:48 pm

I am walking down the aisle to a piano rendition of Griffin House’s “The Guy Who Says Goodbye to you is Out of His Mind” :)

jaime June 14, 2012 at 6:01 pm

OMG! Is there a version of that on YouTube? Waterfall is one of my FAVORITES and I love The Guy Who Says Goodbye to You is Out of His Mind, too!

Gabrielle June 14, 2012 at 6:47 pm

I got married in May of 2011, I walked down the isle to “Here Come’s My Girl”, by Tom Petty. It was amazing. There were only about 30 guests (we got married on a cruise) and every single one of them were dancing/bopping their heads as I walked (more like danced) down the isle with my dad. It was the greatest thing ever!

Shauna November 19, 2013 at 9:29 am

I am curious if your Here comes my girl was instrumental or did you leave the lyrics in? I can’t help but the verses are kind of depressing? Am I over thinking it?

Mandi June 14, 2012 at 6:49 pm

A classical guitar cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You”!

Karyn June 17, 2012 at 1:27 pm

“Never mind I’ll find someone like you… I wish nothing but the best for you… Don’t forget me, I beg. I remember you said ‘Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead…”

Not really appropriate for walking down the aisle, seeing as it’s about a woman being left behind by the man she loves who is married to another woman.

Ashley June 17, 2012 at 4:53 pm

We fall into the camp of appropriate schmappropriate – if it’s a good song, it’s a good song regardless of the lyrics.

Kristina O. June 14, 2012 at 8:40 pm

I’m getting married in March, and I chose a song by Daphne Loves Derby called Simple, Starving to be Safe. :)

Mandy September 23, 2012 at 1:49 pm

I love DLD! That’s such a great song to have in your wedding! Hope it goes wonderfully!

DanaK June 14, 2012 at 9:30 pm

I will be walking down the aisle to “In My Life” by The Beatles (guitar acoustical version). This is my second marriage. My first husband passed away so this says it all for me about my fist husband and how I feel about my soon to be new husband.

Tifanie June 15, 2012 at 10:48 am

That is beautiful! That song is PERFECT for your situation – great choice!

Brittany June 14, 2012 at 9:40 pm

Love Story meets Viva La Vida. It is rather long though.

Brittany June 14, 2012 at 9:48 pm

or….. Love Story meets Love Story, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgXmiLztne4

Lea June 14, 2012 at 9:41 pm

I’m getting married August 18 and I’m walking down the aisle to “Amazed” by Lonestar.

Cat November 14, 2012 at 2:33 am

Beautiful Song, this will be one of mine!

Julia Humphries June 15, 2012 at 1:42 am

My wedding party went down the aisle to “The Prayer” by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church….but it took f o r e v e r ……and I was telling them all to wallllkkk slowwwwly. Then we ended up cutting it off and putting “Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring” on for me to walk in. It was comical….but we had fun.

Michele June 15, 2012 at 6:49 am

I walked down the aisle to Etta James’ “At Last” and then once we were married, Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This”

Kati June 15, 2012 at 7:38 am

I’m getting married in Spring 2014 in Nashville and I’m walking down the aisle to a banjo/guitar instrumental version of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” :)

Caitlin Winn June 15, 2012 at 8:21 am

In 2 weeks I am walking down the aisle to “I have and always will” by Dave Barnes. It’s incredibly perfect

Callie June 19, 2012 at 6:40 am

I LOVE THIS SONG. And Dave Barnes. That will be perfect!!

Natasha June 15, 2012 at 8:41 am

We can’t find the song we want anywhere, we want ‘Stand By Me”, but we what it sung by Need To Breathe. We have looked every where but can’t find it, it’son Youtube but it’s done life and very poor quality. We are not happy about it.

Meredith June 18, 2012 at 9:48 pm

Bear and Bo could sing the phonebook at my wedding and I’d be happy.

Darcy June 15, 2012 at 10:55 am

For my wedding, I chose Free/Into the Mystic by Zac Brown Band & Jimmy Buffett. There’s a big music solo in the beginning which got everyone’s attention, the girls walked out to the beginning of Free and then the DJ had it set it to quick fade to Into the Mystic part when I walked down. Everybody loved it as it was totally original (this link doesn’t include the musical intro in the beginning):

Darcy June 15, 2012 at 10:57 am

Oh, and as we walked out, the DJ played the very end of the song about “all we need is love” (minus the money part). The perfect ending to the perfect ceremony :)

Karen July 2, 2012 at 9:40 pm

I LOVE that Zac Brown Band song..it is one of my all time favorites! I kept going back and forth with using that or something else. I think I have decided to use “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley for parents (instrumental beginning), wedding party and flower girls/ ring bearer. Both my fiance and I love this version, it is so beautiful. Then, I will walk down to “Love Me Tender” the version by Norah Jones. Our recessional song is going to be “I;m Yours” by Jason Mraz.

Denise March 3, 2013 at 7:17 am

Love! Will use as well!

Teresa June 15, 2012 at 3:41 pm

My fiance and I are using “To Make You Feel My Love” By Adele…

Crystal June 25, 2012 at 2:25 am

Us too!! He played the song in the car on our way back from our first Valentine’s date, and the song came on the radio in the bridal shop while trying on wedding dresses. Needless to say, I chose the one I was wearing when it came on :)

Sara November 18, 2012 at 10:55 am

I will be walking down the aisle to this song, but I chose the version by Kris Allen. The processional will be an instrumental version of Enya’s – Only Time. Followed by a recessional of Tom Cochrane’s – Life is a Highway. Can’t wait!

Aimee January 27, 2013 at 7:46 pm

We used “Life is a Highway” too!

Deana January 25, 2014 at 2:48 pm

I love Kris Allen’s version of To Make You Feel My Love!! Adele is great, but for me this wasn’t one of her best songs.

Kirsten June 15, 2012 at 9:22 pm

We are getting married july 13 2013 and the song Im gonna walk down the Isle to is I keep on loving you by Reba Mcentire <3 but Im not sure what song to walk back up the isle yet

Kelly June 16, 2012 at 9:31 am

I am getting married May 10th 2013 and we are using Christina Perry A Thousand Years to walk down the aisle to. It is such a beautiful song and the words are perfect.

Cass June 17, 2012 at 11:29 pm

I love that song great choice. Perfect beat too

Randa June 18, 2012 at 7:48 am

Look up “The Piano Guys” on YouTube.! They have an instrumental arrangement of this song that will make you cry. Just cello and piano. It is quite beautiful.

Julie June 19, 2012 at 4:36 pm

Randa, I had been trying for weeks to figure out a way to incorporate this song into my wedding. The version you suggested is perfect for me to have my bridesmaids walk down the aisle to. Thank you!

erin May 5, 2013 at 12:28 pm

omg, i just listened to this and bawled my eyes out…changing my song for walking down the isle!!

Kim June 27, 2012 at 9:44 pm

I never really paid attention to this song, but it will be the song I walk down the aisle to now!!

Brenda September 29, 2012 at 8:55 am

My husband (of 25 years) and I renewed our vows last feb. I walked in to “A Thousand Years”, it was beautiful …
Great words and a beautiful song.

Rachel June 16, 2012 at 2:14 pm

The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel. So beautiful!

Dawn June 18, 2012 at 12:57 pm

“Book of Love” is gorgeous. I’m not even dating someone, but I have thought of wedding songs for YEARS. This one will be in the mix, somewhere.

I also adore “January Wedding” by The Avett Brothers. Even if my wedding is in May, that song will be played sometime during the reception or something.

Vanessa June 28, 2012 at 1:09 pm

I LOVE January Wedding! And the Avett Brothers.

Emma October 7, 2012 at 8:31 pm

Oh my goodness, me too. I first heard it in the series finale of Scrubs, and fell in LOVE with it. Every time I hear it, it makes me cry because it’s just so perfect and beautiful :)

Denise March 3, 2013 at 7:19 am

Absolutely makes me shiver every time I hear this! For sure using this song!!!!!!!

Mallory June 16, 2012 at 5:12 pm

My fiance and I are getting married in August and we want to have a fun wedding and we want people to really enjoy themselves. So after we get married as we make our way back down the aisle together as husband and wife we will have the song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Your’s” by Stevie Wonder playing and we will strongly encourage our wedding party and attendants to dance and sing along with it! :)

Heather June 16, 2012 at 7:41 pm

My girlfriend and I are only in the verrrry early planning stages and at this point, I’ve picked about 10 “perfect” songs for the first dance, including some mentioned above and “When I Say I Do” being one of the frontrunners but also “All Your Life”, “In My Life” performed by Johnny Cash and others still in the running) For walking down the aisle, I think it’ll be either (“Till Kingdom Come” (with my son playing guitar and my daughter singing) or “Marry Me” by Train……ugh, so many great choices – so…..how many really schmoopie songs do you think I could get away with? lol

Danielle B June 16, 2012 at 10:40 pm

My husband & I got married on April 20, 2012. I walked down the aisle to a violin cover of “Marry Me” by Train and my husband walked in with the chaplain to “God Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. The songs went perfectly with our relationship. :)

jaime June 25, 2012 at 9:41 am

Danielle, thanks so much for your songs! I had to add the violin version of Marry Me to our list – http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

You’re the best!

MCortes June 17, 2012 at 12:07 am

My husband and I got married almost 17 years ago and I walked down the aisle to “Now and Forever” by Richard Marx. While we were planning our wedding, it was the only thing he requested to choose, he gave me carte blanche in everything else! To this day I get teary eyed when I hear that song.

Tara June 17, 2012 at 5:38 am

My wedding is June 23 (six days?!?). My fiancé spent months trying to convince me that the only song I could walk down the aisle to was the traditional wedding march (which I hate and always have). I wanted to walk in to Viramin String Quartet’s version of Can’t Help Falling in Love because it was my parents’ first dance song. BUT…when I was reading on another wedding forum, I stumbled on “Bridal March” by Johnathan Cain. It’s a piano piece with parts of the wedding march woven in. It is so beautiful and future husband still gets his traditional wedding march!

Elizabeth July 4, 2012 at 5:24 pm

Gave me GOOSEBUMPS! beautiful! thank you for sharing!

Lindsey Moore January 17, 2013 at 6:49 am

Thank you so much for sharing that song! I am having the same problem as well. My fiancé agreed to let me have a sort of pre-bridal-entrance song (violin version of Halo by Beyonce) but he wanted more of the traditional as well. He will love this!

Jess June 14, 2013 at 5:50 pm

My wedding is in 2 weeks and I couldn’t find the right song to walk down the aisle to….thank you so very much for sharing, this is absolutely perfect and brought tears to my eyes while I listened!

Fenny September 7, 2013 at 7:25 am

OMG, wooooooow!! I have never heard his version before. The intro is sooooooo different! I have no plans on using the traditional, overly used wedding march; but that piece is truly so beautiful! Thank you for sharing that.

I’m not engaged but I want to walk down the aisle to I Found Love by BeBe Winans. Gosh, now I can’t get Cain’s version out of my head.

Christy June 17, 2012 at 8:00 am

I will be walking down the aisle to “your the first, my last, my everything” by Mr. Barry White. This song fits us!

Jessica June 17, 2012 at 11:20 am

I am getting married in April of 2013 and I plan on using Marry Me by Train. My fiance used to sing it to me, so I think it would be a cute compliment to our relationship, since he wouldn’t know the song beforehand.

Jess June 17, 2012 at 11:48 am

I am having my girls walk down to an instrumental version of either “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, “Just Like Heaven” by the Cure, or “Underneath It All” by No Doubt… haven’t decided yet!! I’m walking down to “Come Thou Fount” by Paul Cardall, about a minute in, and the doors will open :)

Madison June 17, 2012 at 12:51 pm

I am walking down to “I like to be with me when I’m with you” by Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors

Jaime June 17, 2012 at 1:03 pm

We were married October 5, 2005. I walked to Peter Gabriel’s “In your eyes” Outside, just before sunset. It was perfect!

Christine August 8, 2012 at 10:13 pm

I walked down the isle to In Your Eyes also. It was perfect!

Raeann June 17, 2012 at 1:29 pm

I plan on walking down the aisle to “I Love You ‘Til The End” by The Pogues. I first heard it when I watched P.S. I love you and fell in love with it.

jamie June 17, 2012 at 3:41 pm

i’ve just seen a face – the beatles!! perfect.

Holly June 17, 2012 at 7:08 pm

I am not engaged or even close to being so, but I have a song picked out. I want to walk down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Then everyone will walk/dance back down the aisle to “Beautiful Day” by U2.

Krista April 30, 2013 at 7:32 pm

Trust me, you think you have it all figured out…things change with a relationship and with planning a wedding…lol.

Krista April 30, 2013 at 7:57 pm

I’m getting married on September 6, 2013 and I am walking down the aisle to “god gave me you” by Blake Shelton. My fiance doesn’t much care for Blake, but we both love the song, and considering how he’s an atheist, that’s definitely an improvement. =P

Brianne August 3, 2013 at 9:54 pm

Have you heard Dave Barnes version of that song? If you dont like Blake Shelton you may like it! Personally I prefer Dave Barnes’ voice :)

maxine June 17, 2012 at 8:19 pm

I will be marrying on Novemeber 3. It wll be my second wedding and we wanted a fun theme so decided on a hillbilly wedding. I will be walking down the aisle to illy Curringtons, “Want you to love me like my Dog does”.

Mandi June 17, 2012 at 10:05 pm

I’m walking down to sweet child of mine by vitamin string quartet. It’s my favorite song of all times but my fiancé isn’t a GNR fan. When I heard the violin version I almost cried it was so beautiful. and I just found out I’m expecting a baby so it will have an extra special ring to it next month when we get married!

Shanen June 18, 2012 at 12:42 am

When my time comes I’ve decided on “I love you till the end” by The Pogues. Its from P.S I love you and I fell in love with it!

Cheyenne July 2, 2012 at 4:08 pm

that’s the song we’ve chosen for our bridal entrance as well! it chokes me up every time i hear it. :) we’re just having trouble finding a song that compliments it for the bridal party entrance. :(

Danielle June 18, 2012 at 11:13 am

I walked down the aisle to Sinead O’Conner’s version of Someday My Prince Will Come. It is just over a minute long and the timing and lyrics are perfect. Our first dance was Somebody Loved by The Weepies, makes me tear up everytime!

Heather June 18, 2012 at 2:32 pm

Great choices! I walked down the aisle to “when you say you love me” by Josh Groban. It was perfect & breathe-taking.

jaime June 18, 2012 at 2:35 pm

LOVE that, Heather!

Also, I checked out your site – we’d LOVE to feature some of the engagement photos you’ve taken! Shoot me an email at [email protected] – I’d love to work with you. :)

cg June 18, 2012 at 10:24 pm

“Turning Page” instrumental version by Sleeping At Last will be playing when I walk down the aisle. The song played during Bella and Edward’s wedding in Breaking Dawn Pt. I…it’s a beautiful song.

Brittany June 19, 2012 at 9:28 pm

Me too!!! I’m gettin Married August 11, 2012! Not a very common choice but I immediately fell in love with the song and lyrics not to mention I am a huge twilight geek’ it’s perfect And elegant and beautiful!! I found the instrumental version which was really hard to come by without buying the whole special edition album off iTunes! Good choice!

America June 23, 2012 at 5:09 pm

I’m getting married June 1, 2013 and this will be our precessional song! SO amazingly beautiful

Casey June 18, 2012 at 10:44 pm

My fiance actually picked out the song, “Waiting For a Girl Like You” by Foriegner…. It was on the first playlist he ever made me :)

Amy June 19, 2012 at 6:28 am

I walked down to “Out of my League” by Stephen Speaks – our pianist played for us. It was beautiful and perfect.

Sarah June 19, 2012 at 11:02 am

I’m walking down the asile to “Your Guardian Angel” by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! My bridesmaids and flowergirl will be walking down at the first part of the song and I will walk down on the last half when the song gets louder. CAN’T WAIT!

Jennifer June 19, 2012 at 11:22 am

If I ever get married (again ugh) I wanna walk down the aisle to “A River flows in you” by Yiruma.

MrsToledo June 26, 2012 at 5:18 pm

That was our wedding song! We had a teeny wedding and only 2 groomsmen and bridesmaids, and about 40 guests. It was intimate and perfect and everyone cried!!

Adri June 19, 2012 at 12:55 pm

We are getting married October 6th. I’m walking down the aisle to Rascal Flatts “Bless the Broken Road” and might have the bridal party walk to Carrie Underwood “So Small”

Danielle June 19, 2012 at 3:17 pm

Today by Joshua Radin

Marisa Farnell June 19, 2012 at 6:41 pm

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. Listen to it. I plan on walking down the isle to this song.

Amber June 20, 2012 at 1:06 pm

Me too. Knew it the first time I heard the song

Tricia June 19, 2012 at 7:41 pm

I am getting married 9/1/2012 in Islamorada, Florida (florida keys) I am walking down the aisle to “Sea of Love” by Cat Powers, walking back down the aisle to the reggae version of “somewhere over the rainbow” our first announcement as husband & wife to “stuck like glue” by sugarland and finally our first dance will be “God gave me you” by Blake Shelton. :)

Tara June 26, 2012 at 2:13 pm

I just got married a couple of weeks ago, and used that same first dance song, but a cover by Michael Henry and Justin Robinett. We just really liked the duet/harmony of their voices. It’s a great song!

Leah June 20, 2012 at 12:36 am

Myself & the whole bridal party walked down the isle to the Vitamin String Quartet’s version of Taylor Swift’s Love Story. It was so beautiful, we got a lot of positive feedback and lots of tears flowing from it!!

Lauren June 20, 2012 at 11:28 am

I am getting married on July 6, 2012!! It’s almost here:) I am having my bridesmaids walk down to When I Fall In Love the instrumental version and I will be walking down to the Wedding March by Miranda Wong. I have always hated the traditional Wedding March but this version is beautiful.:)

Shannon June 20, 2012 at 7:25 pm

Found this via pinterest. Curious to see if my song was on this list…and it is! I walked to “the first day of my life” back on September 20th, 2008. Our first dance was “follow you to the dark” (band name escapes me!!) almost used mazzy stars’ fade into you.

Danielle June 25, 2012 at 7:24 am

Follow you Into the Dark is by Death Cab for Cutie.

Kim June 20, 2012 at 8:34 pm

We are getting married May 24, 2013 and I will be Walking down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. We are getting married on the beach and this song just makes me smile.

Caroline June 20, 2012 at 10:11 pm

I am getting married on July 6th, 2012 also! I am walking down the aisle to “This Kind of Love” by Sister Hazel. It is so beautiful and has a good instrumental pause for dramatic effect when my dad and I walk in! Congrats to all the brides on here!

Maggie June 21, 2012 at 6:31 pm

We got married last October and we’re big movie junkies. We also wanted something quiet to start, as our plan was for the music selections to gradually gain intensity, culminating in our triumphant exit! My bridal party walked in to the Feather Theme from Forrest Gump (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOvuwNyhcqI&feature=fvwrel) and I walked in to the Glasgow Love Theme from Love Actually (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-Juy0ZYkcY), both played on solo piano. It fit perfectly.

Emma October 7, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE Love Actually, and that is such a pretty song to walk in to! Slow and pretty, love it!

Kayleigh Morris January 13, 2013 at 1:44 pm

That piece of music from Love Actually is stunning! Forgot all about it! xx

Andrea K. June 21, 2012 at 7:50 pm

I walked down the aisle to “Some where over the rainbow”, that my cousin played on her ukulele. I used that song for many reasons, A) my love for The Wizard of OZ, B) My mom :) Not having my mom here with us was is hard, and caused many breakdowns! but hearing this song has always comforted me (even before she passed away 2 years ago).
So really having this song played was a small way to have my mom there on our big day, and a special place for my cousin to have a small (yet so special) roll in the wedding.

Joan June 21, 2012 at 10:12 pm

Both of my daughters walked down the aisle with their dad to Storybook Love (Theme song from The Princess Bride) played on a harp. It was beautiful!

Mindy June 21, 2012 at 11:53 pm

We’re getting married next year, and even though there are so many great songs to choose from, I decided on David Garrett’s “Chelsie Girl” to walk down the aisle to. It’s a beautiful instrumental, and I knew it was right the moment I heard it!! Not sure yet what the bridesmaids will walk in to, but the processional will be “Cotton-Eyed Joe”(…His pick, not mine! :) lol)

Ashley June 22, 2012 at 11:33 am

I just got married on May 5th and I walked in to an instrumental version of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer.” I’ve always adored that song and we got TONS of compliments about doing something different. Still one of my favorite moments of the whole day!

Ashley June 22, 2012 at 11:36 am

Also, my bridal party walked into Ray LaMontagne’s “You are the Best Thing” and for our recessional we played “I’ve Just Seen a Face” originally by The Beatles, but we used the Jim Sturgess version from the movie Across the Universe. It was definitely a fun way to end our light hearted, outdoor wedding and move on to reception shennanigans!

Amanda G. January 31, 2013 at 2:44 am

I want to use “You are the Best Thing” for our walk back down the aisle as husband and wife…but the fiance isn’t too keen on it. At least, not yet. Haha.

Angela Bailey June 22, 2012 at 3:10 pm

OOOO this is fun! I found this via Pinterest! I love that you don’t have “typical” songs on this list! I know you didn’t ask for ALL of these, but I thought I’d share!

Seating of Guests- A mix of love songs throughout time, including the songs of people who know/love.
1. Heaven by Bryan Adams is my Mom and Dad’s song. They were married in July ’85.
2.Chapel of Love by Dixie Cups
3. Unforgettable by Nat and Natalie King Cole was on the list in honor of one of my aunts and uncles. (He actually married us!)
4. Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden
5. Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
6. This Magic Moment by The Drifters
7. My Girl by The Temptations
8. My Guy by Mary Wells
9. L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole
10. Have I Told You Lately That I Love You by Rod Stewart

We had a slideshow of pictures of my husband and I throughout the ages. The songs we used were
1. How Sweet It Is by Marvin Gaye
2. Real Love by Regina Spektor
3. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol
4. Love Story by Taylor Swift
5. I Adore You by Melpo Mene
6. Grow Old With Me by The Postal Service

My bridesmaids walked down the aisle to (don’t judge…)
1. Bella’s Lullaby from the Twilight Soundtrack–It’s beautiful!! Check it out before thinking I’m some fan girl! 😉

I walked down to…
1. When You Say You Love Me by Josh Groban
EVERYONE was crying…including my husband, my dad, my mom, my uncle (the minister) me, etc. etc. The song is dramatic, beautiful, etc. We faded it out so that we didn’t have to stand there listening to it after I already made it down the aisle!

After the ceremony, we walked out to…
1. Celebrate by Kool and the Gang–Super fun!

Our first dance was…
1. The Luckiest by Ben Folds–I bawl every time I hear that song

Daddy daughter dance was…
1. Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman

Mother son dance was…
1. What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

Cake Cutting song was…
1. How Sweet It Is by James Taylor

Garter Toss was…
Wild Thing by _____ (my husband was super into that one…whatever…)

Bouquet toss was…
Single Ladies by Beyonce

We had a blast at our wedding! People STILL talk about how fun it was and we just celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary on June 19th. People told us they loved how diverse our music selection was, too. It helps that my husband used to be a DJ! Ha. Anyway, feel free to use any of the songs I listed, ladies! I’m not crazy to believe that no one ever used them before me!

Karen Cervantes July 11, 2012 at 12:25 am

Angela! What a great wedding soundtrack!! Thanx for sharing! We have a lot (musically speaking) in common!! I ‘m getting married feb 9th, 2013 but I’ve been planning my wedding songs for years. I have a lot of your songs in my list. I just didn’t know how to make all of them fit, specially when they are not the typical ones. You gave me a great idea! I loove Cinderella (steven c.c.) but I’m such a cryer, I’m afraid I’ll be crying all night long!

Karen June 22, 2012 at 4:57 pm

My bridal party and I walked down the aisle to Something Beautiful by Needtobreathe. There is a pause between the lyrics, and when they start singing again is when my grandpa & I walked in.

Brandie Russell June 22, 2012 at 6:39 pm

Something- Jim Sturgess for my walk down the aisle

Morgan June 23, 2012 at 12:29 am

I got married in October 2012 and we decided on a rock and roll and literature themed wedding. We were lucky enough to have an opera pipe organ in our venue so my bridal party walked out to a gorgeous organ version of Sweet Child o’ mine by Guns N Roses and I walked out to an organ version of Somebody to Love by Queen. The intro made a perfect fanfare and got everyone on their feet. VERY cool.

Chrisie June 23, 2012 at 2:14 am

She will be loved by Maroon 5 is a song I’ve always wanted to walk down the aisle to. But more of a violin verison.

Ashley June 23, 2012 at 10:08 am

I’m getting married October 2013, and my choice for the walk down the aisle is the Across the Universe version of “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” It’s the perfect pace, so beautiful. My fiance’s not convinced, but I’m determined to make it happen!

We will be walking back up the aisle to “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles.

Jenni June 24, 2012 at 6:35 am

“She’s Got a Way” by Billy Joel will play as I walk down the aisle 5 hours from now.

Jessica June 27, 2012 at 9:41 pm

I love that song and that will be the one i walk down the aisle to. Its so timeless and classic.

Dani G. June 24, 2012 at 10:05 am

I found an AMAZING violin cover of “I won’t Give Up” on YouTube!
I’m seriously considering using it!! And everyone has given SO MANY good suggestions!!

jaime June 24, 2012 at 11:41 am

AHH! I totally ADORE that, Dani!

Thanks, girl!

jaime June 25, 2012 at 9:40 am

Dani – thank you SO much for sharing this! I gave you a shout-out on the newest post: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

You’re the best!

Anna June 24, 2012 at 1:36 pm

I decided to walk down the isle to the piano/guitar version of “God Bless the Broken Road”. The Rascal Flatt’s version will be our first dance. I thought it was a good connection to make. My groom and I are also being a little nontraditional in the mother/son, father/daughter dance as I will be dancing with my brother instead. We are doing a joint dance and dancing to Rascal Flat’s “My Wish” A great song.

Lyssa June 24, 2012 at 7:32 pm

We are in the early stages of planning but I just love the song “hearts are breaking across Texas” by Aaron Watson. We are huge texas country fans an this song is perfect!

Danielle June 25, 2012 at 7:47 am

I am getting married on July 12, 2012 (Yes…a Thursday).
Family members and Bridal Party will be walking in to “In My Life” by The Beatles (My fiance’s favorite song).

I will be walking into Sister Hazel’s “This Kind of Love” or Jonathan Cain’s Wedding March.

We are doing a Love Letter Ceremony and will play “When I Say I Do” by Matthew West.

Finally, to walk out, we are playing “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

Allison June 25, 2012 at 11:59 am

For my brother’s wedding, they picked Colbie Caillat’s “Magic” & they had two people sing it & it was only accompanied with guitar. Then the after the kiss, they played Colbie Caillat’s “I Do” & us in the wedding party skipped down the aisle behind them :) It was so romantic & so much!

Julie June 25, 2012 at 6:52 pm

i walked down the aisle to “you’re so cool” from the movie “true romance.” the song is performed by the hans zimmer and it’s so awesome! it sounds like mostly xylophone (which sounds weird but you have to listen to the song, it’s so great, i promise) and it reminds me a lot of that version of “somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderful world”

Danielle Nicole June 26, 2012 at 12:51 pm

I actually walked down the aisle to Bright Eyes “First Day of My Life” and our family/bridesmaids walked down to “Such Great Heights” by Iron and Wine. I had a friend play guitar and sing, it was so beautiful I’m almost positive my husband teared up a bit (though he’ll never admit it).

kassi June 26, 2012 at 1:06 pm

All this time by One republic is the song my bridesmaids are walking down to.. not sure what I will be though

Tara June 26, 2012 at 2:18 pm

We got married on June 9, and I walked to a violin solo of the chorus from ‘Come Thou Fount’. I love that it talks about God’s blessings; my groom knows he is a blessing from God to me so now that song will be even more special to us than it was before our wedding.

Elizabeth June 26, 2012 at 5:18 pm

I went to a wedding where the bride walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. I thought that was a really good song choice

Bree June 26, 2012 at 6:22 pm

I’m not engaged (yet!) but I already have my processional and recessional songs picked out. :)

Processional- Stand By Me by Ben E. King. I love this song and it absolutely reminds me of my boyfriend! It gives me strength and sounds like his presence. Safe, strong, and warm.

Recessional- Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Brother Iz. Cheerful, beautiful, and sweet, which is the exact vibe I want my wedding to have!

kim June 26, 2012 at 6:57 pm

We had a beach wedding 15 years ago and some friends of ours played Unchained Melody on guitar and keyboard, very beautiful.

Angela June 26, 2012 at 7:11 pm

I got married on May 12 this year and my bridal party and I came into the song “Take It All In” by Trent Dabbs. It’s an amazing song and perfect timing to get all the groomsman (we had 5) and bridesmaids (5) and flower girl and ring bearer in with plenty of time for the gorgeous breathtaking lead up to the “stand for the bride” and ends perfectly at the end of the aisle!! I still get goosebumps when I hear that song and was perfect for a wedding!!!

Jessie June 26, 2012 at 10:36 pm

I am so in love with so many of the songs you all have mentioned. I’ve been pretty set on walking down the aisle to “1000 years” by Christina Perri and I LOVE the Piano Guys version someone mentioned. My fiance said all he can think about when he hears that song is vampires and werewolves (thanks, Twilight). One of my favorite artists is Jason Reeves (he has written for Colbie Caillat and Katherine McPhee) and he has a song called “More in love with you” that I absolutely adore. His song “you’re my best friend” is beautiful too but the first one is definitely more us. I also get teary-eyed every time I hear “Marry Me” by Train. “I won’t give up” is amazing too, and my two favorite country songs that I’d like to somehow incorporate are “God gave me you” by Blake Shelton and “Only you can love me this way” by Keith Urban. “I will not give my love away” by Matt Wertz is a good one too! AHHH. I’m too indecisive.

jaime June 27, 2012 at 6:57 am

Jessie, you NEED to check out our violin list: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

Thanks for your sweet comment!

Jessica June 27, 2012 at 9:36 pm

My fiance and I are getting married on October 12, 2013 and i fell absolutely in love with Billy Joel’s She’s Got Away for my big walk, but I chose an acoustic instrumental version. Another favorite of mine is These are the days by Van Morrison.

Kelly Hartley June 28, 2012 at 4:15 am

Good song for walking down the aisle: Storybook Love (the theme song from the Princess Bride).
Good song for father-daughter dance if you’ve had a turbulent relationship w/ your dad: “Teach Your Children Well” by Crosby Stills and Nash (cuz sometimes “I Loved Her First” or “Butterfly Kisses” just isn’t appropriate for some gals)

Darrah June 28, 2012 at 12:14 pm

True Companion by Marc Cohn! GO LISTEN! <3

Vanessa June 28, 2012 at 12:57 pm

My husband and I were married in 2004, and I walked in to Someone Like You by NSync. I know how cheesy that band was, but the lyrics were perfect for a processional.

Heather June 28, 2012 at 4:26 pm

I want to walk down the aisle to “Lost in the Moment” by Big and Rich… LOVE LOVE LOVE this sone

Mandy June 28, 2012 at 7:46 pm

I used I Hope You Dance by LeeAnn Womack to have the mothers and grandmothers seated. My bridesmaids walked in to Thank you for being a friend by Andrew Gold (yes, the Golden Girls theme song)! Everyone loved it!! I walked down the aisle to A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson!! And the recessional was Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now by Jefferson Starship!

Hailey June 29, 2012 at 7:34 am

Another suggestion would be “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

Linda Depenhart June 29, 2012 at 11:21 am

I’m planning to walk down the aisle to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years”. I cannot wait!!!

SammyJ June 29, 2012 at 1:10 pm

I just coordinated a wedding last weekend and the couple had a friend sing “Maps” from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs….There was not a dry eye in the house.

Kaitlyn July 1, 2012 at 11:03 pm

That would be a great song to walk down the aisle to.

Charlie June 30, 2012 at 2:19 am

I’m not engaged (yet!) but I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I plan on walking down the aisle to “Winter’s Love” by Animal Collective. It’s not much of a love song, but it’s so beautiful and it reflects my and my boyfriend’s personality perfectly! That and we’re huge AC fans. :) not sure what the bridal party will walk to yet…

Christina July 1, 2012 at 1:03 am

Getting married on 3/16/2013 & I was planning on doing the traditional Canon in D, played it soooo many times & years growing up I know almost every version & have just always known that was going to be my wedding song UNTIL someone suggested on here God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts…..O-M-G- that is sooooo us. :) Still deciding everything out but I would def like to incorporate another suggested song When I Say I do by Matthew West b/c that is def what we both believe in Our engagement song was/is I Lost It by Kenny Chesney in the beginning describes us to a T on our day and it came on as soon as we got in the car after leaving our/his proposal dinner. My absolute favorite song to him will be I’d Love To Be Your Last by Gretchen Wilson–that song makes me cry no matter how many times I listen to it and can’t picture no one else but my soon to be hubby. He has a few songs to me one of his top favorites is Crazy Girl by Eli Young Band & his other top favorite A Woman Like You by Lee Brice. Sooo many choices & variation, glad I found this on pinterest!!

Renee July 1, 2012 at 7:42 am

I’ll be walking down the aisle to Sea of Love by Cat Power on August 25, 2012

Brittany July 1, 2012 at 11:09 am

Getting married in 2014, Im walking down the aisle to “Flightless Bird-Iron and Wine” .

imari August 6, 2012 at 10:29 am

mmmm. twilight fan?

kay July 1, 2012 at 2:45 pm

our wedding was in the mountains, with a crystal blue, calm lake behind us. it was rustic, small and BEAUTIFUL! our song was bob dylans, the wedding song.

natasha July 1, 2012 at 6:55 pm

Ten years ago, I walked down the aisle to “From this moment” and it has been true!

Kaitlyn July 1, 2012 at 10:57 pm

Chris and I are currently planning our wedding and since this song remake was released I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle to it. Julia Stone’s voice isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love this song and the words and I personally, think her voice is beautiful and unique.

Angus & Julia Stone – You’re The One That I Want (Grease Cover)

Katrina July 2, 2012 at 6:22 am

I am walking down the aisle to “Perfect Day” by Holley Maher. Knew it as soon as I heard it!

Karla April 18, 2013 at 1:57 pm

Did you get a guitar player to play it for you??? where did you get the chords if you did??? How did you play it if you did not ???

Nicole July 2, 2012 at 2:52 pm

My wedding was more laid back, so we decided to have the music be a little fun and goofy. My husband even wanted his own entrance, so he walked in to a remix of the James Bond theme and I walked down the aisle to She’s A Lady by Tom Jones.

Deanna July 2, 2012 at 4:47 pm

Thirty-five years ago I did my first walk down the aisle to Cat Stevens’ “Morning Has Broken” because I hated (and still hate) the traditional wedding march!
This rubbed off on my daughter and she walked to “A Whiter Shade of Pale” (instrumental).
After 8 years of widowhood, I will take my second trip down the aisle September 2nd to “Grow Old With Me”…a very appropriate song!
I just need to find the right song for the exit. In the running are “At Last” by Ella James, “Unforgettable” by Nat and Natalie Cole, or (just for fun) “In The Mood”. Any suggestions would be great.

Shelli July 13, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Mickey Gilly’s That’s All That Matters To Me is a good one.

Ashley F August 25, 2012 at 12:08 am

Everything by Michael Buble! I can’t believe it hasn’t made this list yet. It is our exit song April 2013.

Beth July 2, 2012 at 6:56 pm

The processional song for me (the bride) will be January Rain by David Gray (from movie Serendipity). I need a good instrumental for the bridal party to walk to….any ideas????

Amanda July 2, 2012 at 8:50 pm

Getting married May 11, 2013…. Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Lady Antebellum…so sweet and the music is great

Andrea Wiederhoeft January 19, 2014 at 2:36 pm

I love them and thgs song.

Andrea Wiederhoeft January 19, 2014 at 2:37 pm

I ment to say I love them and that song. Its such a beautiful song. Good pick.

Courtney July 3, 2012 at 8:23 am

I think a good song for the walk down the aisle would be, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri (:

jaime July 3, 2012 at 1:50 pm

Have you heard the violin cover of this song?! We posted about it here: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

Love it – thanks for sharing!

Kayla F July 3, 2012 at 1:25 pm

I am currently planning on taking my trip down the aisle to “Its You” by Michelle Branch. http://www.michellebranch.com/songs/its-you The lyrics are short, but the song is absolutely beautiful and has a lovely music break

Lori Lynn July 3, 2012 at 2:29 pm

Our wedding party walked down the isle to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds. I walked down the isle to “Love Never Fails” by Brandon Heath and our recessional was “Something Beautiful” by The Newsboys (personally, this is my fav of the 3! Such a happy song!) “The Luckiest” and “Love Never Fails” are a little bit longer but the words so suited my husband and me!

Sarah Louise July 3, 2012 at 7:50 pm

Hey, You should check out “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. It mentions something about one step closer, being nervous and scared, and looking up to see him standing alone and not being afraid any longer. BEAUTIFUL song and even fits an easy march.

jaime July 4, 2012 at 5:33 am

Have you heard the violin cover of this song?! We posted about it here: http://www.theexcitedbride.com/2012/06/25/wedding-songs-violin-and-orchestral-versions-of-the-songs-you-love/

courtney July 4, 2012 at 6:49 pm

I wil be walking to ‘hands down’ by dashboard confessional. It’s our song, he proposed to me during a live playing of it, we have lyrics tattooed on us as an anniversary present to each other.

If anyone knows the song, when they announce us husband and wife and able to kiss the bride, they’ll turn the song back on where the breakdown starts of ‘and hands down this is the best day I can ever remember…’

So freaking perfect!

iris July 4, 2012 at 7:59 pm

I’m yours- the script

Amy December 5, 2012 at 10:44 pm

I sooo love this song – but my fiance vetoed it :( Glad there’s someone else out there who had this idea!

Mackenzie July 5, 2012 at 12:17 pm

I am getting married in July or August of 2014. I am looking at either “You Got What I Need” by Joshua Radin, <>, and “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele for walking down the aisle. When my bridesmaids walk, I am looking at “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol violin version, “I Have And Always Will” by Dave Barnes”, or “One and Only” by Adele. When we walk back up the aisle as a married couple, I think I will play “At Last” by Etta James. For the first dance I think “Your Guardian Angel” by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is appropriate for us. :)

Jess July 5, 2012 at 4:35 pm

I will be walking down to Radical Face – Welcome Home

Erin July 6, 2012 at 6:51 pm

So I’m getting married next June in 2013 & my fiance and I looove the Civil Wars. We went to one of their shows earlier this year in January at The Pageant in St. Louis, aaaamaaaaazzzzzziiiiiinnnnnng! Anyways, we are in love with their melody The Violet Hour. It is so haunting and beautiful, so that is def what I am walking down the aisle to. It seems dark but its completely romantic & lovely!

Whit July 6, 2012 at 7:16 pm

I’m not sure I’d use Jason mraz’s new song. It wasn’t written as a happy song. I’m using “a thousand years” by Christina perri.

Christi July 6, 2012 at 10:16 pm

We are getting married October 28, 2012 and this is something I have gone back and forth over a billion times. Our 3rd date was to a Miranda Lambert concert, and she is my absolute favorite of all time, so I’d really love to walk to “Makin’ Plans.”

This song is THE song for us.

Kayla July 7, 2012 at 6:29 pm

I love the civil wars but this song is one of my top song I have picked!
The Civil Wars – Dance Me to the End of Love

Jessica July 7, 2012 at 11:43 pm

We are getting married March 22 2013, and a song we both have been in love with since we started dating is “Breathe Me” by Sia… I found an instrumental version online and I am going to have the wedding party walk down at the beginning of the song. It picks up and gets very dramatic towards the middle, perfect for a grande entrance. :)

mylynn1377 July 8, 2012 at 12:46 pm

We’re getting married in October and I have the idea that I am playing A Thousand Years by Christina Perri while everyone is getting seated and the Bridesmaids are going down the aisle (my wedding party is very small). Then when it’s time for the flower boys (because my boys are doing that) to go they will start playing Ingrid Michaelson’s cover of Can’t Help Falling in Love. Our recessional is Maybe I’m Amazed by Sir Paul McCartney.

Kelly July 8, 2012 at 6:39 pm

I walked down the aisle to the acoustic version of “She is Love” by Parachute. It has a great tempo for the procession. My bridesmaids walked down to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson. Still love them 3 years later!

michelle July 9, 2012 at 11:45 am

Telling the world. By taio Cruz :)

Sarah July 9, 2012 at 6:57 pm

I think I am going to use the Piano Guys’ cover of “Without You” by Dave Guetta ft. Usher. It is such an upbeat and happy song, and I love the piano/cello combo! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfRtPbBFoGg&list=PLADDAF010F913D23D&index=12&feature=plpp_video

Trina July 10, 2012 at 10:51 pm

My husband and I got married in 2006 and I walked down the aisle to the first couple of choruses of Paul McCartney’s ‘Calico Skies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqu1e_Mdhqs) – one of my all time favorite songs! And on the labels of our wine bottles we had a line from his song ‘Beautiful Night’: “It’s a beautiful night for love, a wonderful sight for lover’s of love to behold.” <3

Rebekah July 10, 2012 at 10:55 pm

I’m getting married Sept. 15, 2012. We’ve hired a string trio (which is cheaper than a quartet and sounds pretty much the same) and I’m walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. We’re gonna head out to an instrumental version of Ray LaMontagne’s You Are The Best Thing. I can’t wait! I’m so excited!!

Jessica July 11, 2012 at 12:12 am

We used ‘Someone Like You’ (Adele cover) by Aston for bridal party, guitar instrumental by Dave Powers for myself and then we walked back down the aisle to Hoppipolla instrumental. We had musicians, so everything was super epic :)

Jenna Nelson July 11, 2012 at 9:57 pm

The song “1000 Years” by Christina Perri. Absolutely beautiful.

Alyssa July 12, 2012 at 5:40 am

My husband and I got married 3 years ago and my bridesmaids walk in to bless this broken road ( by Rascal Flatts) and I did the traditional bridal march by Jonathan Cain (it still gives me goosebumps to hear it, it`s so pretty)

lois July 12, 2012 at 1:35 pm

We’re getting married in October- I’m walking down the aisle to “Let it be Me” by The Everly Brothers and up the aisle to ‘This Magic Moment” by the Drifters

Charlotte July 12, 2012 at 5:14 pm

I walked down the isle to the hymn “Be thou my vision” played on a big organ (just the music). it was sooo so very beautiful and it really set the mood!

Amber July 13, 2012 at 3:05 am

I want to use the Apocalyptica cover of Metelica’s Nothing Else Matters. It is absolutely gorgeous on strings.

Ren August 6, 2012 at 3:20 pm

Our officiant actually recommended that song for one of his couples!

Bianca July 13, 2012 at 6:07 am

I don’t believe I saw this anywhere but “Walk with you” by Edwin McCain is so sweet if your dad is walking you down the aisle. I wanted to use it for my wedding in Oct. 2011 but my dad was a blubbering mess when he just heard the song. I decided not to make it any harder on him during the ceremony and just use the traditional march. But my husband and I left to “Some Kind of Wonderful” by Grand Funk Railroad to make up for it.

Sylvia July 13, 2012 at 4:04 pm

My daughter walked down the aisle to “wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong.

Kami July 14, 2012 at 11:23 am

I’m walking down to Butterfly Waltz by Brain Crain and the bridesmaids are going down to Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk. Both are the type of songs that just make ya wanna cry, they are so lovely!

Kami July 14, 2012 at 11:24 am

Brian Crain*

Elizabeth Guzman July 14, 2012 at 11:58 pm

Ever since I heard Cat Power’s version of “Sea of Love” on Juno, I fell in love. It’s a pretty special song. Short, sweet & to the point :)

Lindsay July 15, 2012 at 8:26 pm

I got married June 12, 2010. I’ve always been a huge Disney fan, and I got a good friend of mine to play “so thia is love” from Cinderella on classical guitar (no words). It was absolutely perfect and beautiful :)

Lindsay July 16, 2012 at 1:58 pm

I will walking down the aisle to Canon in D, I absolutely love it and think it is perfect!!!

Natalie July 16, 2012 at 2:11 pm

I walked down the isle to “Forever” by Ben Harper

Kate February 1, 2013 at 7:03 am

Love love love that song, we are using that later this year.

Justine July 16, 2012 at 10:58 pm

I am getting married on sept. 21 2013 and I am considering walking to steal his heart by emily and the woods. My bridesmaids are walking to marry me by train and my sand ceremony will be done to when i say i do by mathew west, sang by my cousin and played on piano by my brother and our first dance is going to be to holdin you by grechen wilson :) makes my cry when i hear it all i can think of is my fiance :)

Brandi July 17, 2012 at 7:10 am

My dad Walked me down the isle to “Walk With You” by Edwin McCain. I still tear up every time I listen to this song, it just brings me back to that special walk. My husband & I, followed by our wedding party left the church to “I’m Yours” by Ron Pope.

Stephanie July 17, 2012 at 11:11 am

My hubby and are huge movie buffs so he got to chose for our wedding party “Yoda’s Theme” which is amazingly beautiful (and only the real buffs knew where it was from) and I walked in to the wedding march from the “Sound of Music”. Both were just played by our accompanists and were so special for us!

Amber July 17, 2012 at 12:39 pm

I love the choice in songs and I have used a few for the prelude, while people are sitting down and getting situated but for my walk down the isle I have chosen, Lady GaGa- Edge of Glory. The song makes me smile and speaks so much to the very moment that I am walking down the isle and nothing more…

Katie July 17, 2012 at 2:18 pm

I walked down the isle to Butterfly Kisses. It was so amazing because in the song it says “She’ll change her name today” and the doors open I started walking with my dad. My husband and I walked out to “Never Wanted Nothing More” by Kenny Chesney. And since my name is Katie. It was kind of fitting because it said “Katie laughed and my momma cried when they heard me say ‘I do’.”

Lori July 17, 2012 at 5:42 pm

We got married in Jamaica and I walked down the isle to
Over the Rainbow by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo`ole’s
So perfect for a tropical beach wedding

Jessica July 18, 2012 at 11:00 am

My bridesmaids are walking down the aisle to God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton

Melyssa July 18, 2012 at 5:12 pm

My fiancé and I are getting married In August 2013. We are both big fans of the movie “The Princess Bride” and for the wedding party we are thinking of using the theme song “Storybook love” ( the instrumental version) its so beautiful and the perfect pace. For my walk down the aisle I have chosen to walk down to ukulele version of “Somewhere over the rainbow” by IZ, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, and it makes my fiancé’s eyes water just picturing me walking down to it… So we know it’s perfect. We’re going to be heading out of our ceremony to “Home” by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, it’s one of our favorites and we always sing it together in the car when it comes on the radio.

Vanessa R. July 19, 2012 at 8:04 am

I walked down the aisle to Damien Rice’s The Blowers Daughter.
My brother edited the song so it was the first verse but the second chorus, because it had a violin i the second chorus so it sounded more romantic.

I had so many songs I wanted to use…so I had one song for lighting the aisle candles, one for the bridal party, one for the unity candle…etc.

Julianne July 19, 2012 at 9:44 am

I’m walking to this cover of Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition”:

We’re thinking this cover of Rhianna’s “You Da One” for the recessional, but are also looking for suggestions:

Shamra July 19, 2012 at 3:13 pm

We are doing The Prayer by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church. I love that song and just think the lyrics and words are absolutely beautiful and what a great way to start the ceremony off right.

Jenny July 20, 2012 at 12:49 pm

I am getting hitched on October 20, 2012 and my bridesmaids are walking down the aisle to “Lullaby” by the Dixie Chicks and I am walking down to “So are you to Me” by Eastmountainsouth. My two brothers are playing the piano and guitar and singing both of the songs…super excited! Our first dance song will be “The way I am” by Ingrid Michaelson! I want to do a fun song for the recessional, but having a hard time deciding..I love Disney movies, so maybe “Kiss the girl” from Little Mermaid…haha we will see! Love all of the song suggestions and Congrats and Good luck to all!

Summer July 23, 2012 at 10:27 pm

My husband and I will celebrate 11 years this August. My bridesmaids walked into Bon Jovi “Thank You For Loving Me.” I walked into “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. I still have the cd from the wedding and there isn’t a scratch on it :) Congratulations to all of you on your upcoming marriages. Praying you all are as blessed in your marriages as I have been.

Shannon July 24, 2012 at 8:33 pm

Our processional will be to “Love Never Fails” by Brandon Heath. It is so perfect for my fiance and I… and there is a perfect pause for everyone to stand and my entrance.. and the lyrics at that moment are perfect. <3

Vic July 24, 2012 at 10:36 pm

My processional song was “Groovy Kind of Love” by Phil Collins. Our recessional song was “Cowboy, Take Me Away” by the Dixie Chicks.

Lisa July 25, 2012 at 12:37 am

Loved reading all the comments!
We were married in 1990, and like many I did not like nor wanted the traditional wedding march music. I walked into with the song The battle Hymn of Love being sung by one of my co-workers. Originally recorded by Kathy Mattea. I still love it and my very traditional uncle, absolutely loved this song!

Erin July 30, 2012 at 1:47 pm

We’ve decided on a wedding date of 6/21/2014. A ways away, but gives us plenty of planning time! I’m pretty positive we’ve decided on Red Hot Chili Pepper’s ‘Hard to Concentrate’ for the walk down the isle, and our first dance to be ‘Beautiful’ by H.I.M. Not the normal sons people choose, but they are both so beautiful and describe us so well! Very excited to make music such a big part of our special day.

Rebecca August 3, 2012 at 9:11 am

The Blower’s Daughter by Damien Rice

This song was perfect for a long aisle walk as he repeats a very emotional phrase “I can’t take my eyes off of you”

Brought tears to the whole house!

Lo August 6, 2012 at 1:17 am

I am going to have my bridesmaid go to “waltz triptych” (which is like a medley of Tchaikovsky’s well known waltzes – like the sleeping beauty waltz) and I am going to walk to a string quartet version of the song “kissing you” from the ’96 movie version of romeo and juliet :) the waltzes have special meaning for me and the bridesmaids, and the movie song has special meaning for me and my fiance!

Ren August 6, 2012 at 3:15 pm

Getting married 6/15/13 and Yeaaah. The wedding party is walking down to “Flynn Lives” from the Tron Soundtrack and I’m walking down to “Into the Stars” the ending song in Dragonheart.

We’re nerds and we love it. Our first dance is going to be Paramore’s “My heart”. The wedding is traditional but music means a lot to both of us, so we’re doing it our way.

Misty August 6, 2012 at 7:23 pm

I’ve decided to have A Thousand Years by Christina Perri played at my wedding.
I am having these two played together. It makes A Thousand Years sound AMAZING!!

Autumn August 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

I walked down to “I will follow you into the dark” by death cab for cutie, it was beautiful!

Jessica R. August 7, 2012 at 3:21 pm

I will be walking down the aisle to the instrumental version of “Hear You Me” by Jimmy Eat World. It’s a reminder for the ones we’ve lost who couldn’t be there with us, but who are looking down on us in spirit. The lyrical version is great too, but I’m a sucker for anything instrumental :)

jaime August 7, 2012 at 3:36 pm

I just LOVE that song!!!

Amanda August 8, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Hello all!
I am having a first dance with my new husband and our 1 year old daughter. Anyone have a good song they would recommend?

sophie August 8, 2012 at 5:11 pm

My bridesmaids and I walked down the aisle to “Aerith’s Theme” by Nobuo Uematsu. It’s from Final Fantasy 7 and before you write it off as a nerdy song please listen to it. We used this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDhe6Xgixx0. I made my entrance around 2:17ish when it gets dramatic.

Lindsey August 9, 2012 at 10:21 am

I’m walking down to “Songbird” by Fleetwood Mac. My fiance calls me “his little songbird”, so I thought it would be perfect!

Stacy August 9, 2012 at 7:16 pm

I walked down the aisle to the a Capella version of “forever” by the beach boys. I just love the lyrics. I got alot of compliments for using it as well, alot of my guests havent heard the song before and loved it. And we walked back as husband and wife to “stuck like glue” by sugar land.

Alyssa August 31, 2012 at 8:28 am

We used stuck like glue during our unity sand ceremony :)

Megan August 9, 2012 at 10:37 pm

My fiancé and I are getting married September 23, 2013 in Disney World. I was going to choose the traditional song but when I heard KC and Jo-Jo’s “All My life” (for the thousandth time) it was after we got engaged and the acoustics made me cry. My bridesmaids will be walking to the beginning violin and then after the pause I will be walking to the piano chords. It is absolutely perfect and a vision I could never have dreamed of being so perfect! Our first dance song will be “a Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.

Keri August 12, 2012 at 9:08 am

I am getting married on July 6, 2013. I have yet to decide if all the bridemaids and myself will walk down the isle to this song or just me. I chose “you belong to me” sung by Bob Dylan just beautiful with guitar and the words are soo meaningful to me, brings me to tears almost everytime.

Elizabeth August 12, 2012 at 10:03 pm

I got married in the French Huguenot Church in Charleston, and there was a restriction that we could only use songs that are religious in nature… I walked down the aisle to “How Great Thou Art” sung a cappella by a Gullah gospel choir. Even my photographer was crying. We walked back down the aisle to “Oh, Happy Day” sung by the same choir. It was very Charleston!

Kristi August 15, 2012 at 5:43 pm

I am walking down the aisle to “Marry Me” by Train. They are my favorite band and the moment I heard this song I knew that’s what I would do. It makes my fiance and I tear up every time we hear it, so I’m going to surprise him with it. :)

Melanie August 16, 2012 at 5:29 am

Remember the movie “The Sound of Music”…when Maria and Captain Von Trapp are getting married…The music that she walks down the aisle to was written for the movie. I also walked down the aisle to that same music, 26 years ago!!

Brenda August 16, 2012 at 2:59 pm

I love the song First Dance by Corey Smith!!!

celeste August 18, 2012 at 3:21 pm

Keith Urban- Making memories of Us

Lisa August 18, 2012 at 5:10 pm

The song “Wedding Dress” by Matt Nathanson is beautiful! Perfect for a first dance :)

Lori August 18, 2012 at 8:19 pm

“I will follow you into the dark” Death Cab for Cutie

eka August 19, 2012 at 10:47 pm

You and Me is sung by LIFEHOUSE or from this moment by shania twain

Melissa August 24, 2012 at 3:29 pm

Our wedding is Oct 5, 2012 in Las Vegas, and I am walking down to Marry me by Train.. I am so excited and love this song!

Tracey August 24, 2012 at 4:39 pm

I walked down the aisle to “Love” by Kenny Loggins. It had to be edited, it is a long song! Our recessional was “Ain’t That A Kick” by Dean Martin – fun!

Tracey August 24, 2012 at 4:43 pm

I meant to say my BRIDESMAIDS walked to “Love”- I walked to “When I First Saw You” by Jamie Foxx from Dreamgirls.

Leah August 26, 2012 at 6:07 pm

I’ve decided to walk down the aisle to “Maybe I’m Amazed” cover by Jem. I like the Paul McCartney version but it’s in the male perspective and Jem’s version is from the female. Plus whenever I start listening to the Paul version I start bawling. I also love Dave Barnes “I Have and I Always Will” but I might get too emotional 😉

Still trying to decide for the recessional. My fiance LOVES the Allman Brothers so we might do “Revival”, it’s very upbeat and dance-y with the lines “People can you feel it, Love is everywhere”. That or “Blue Sky” by ABB – “You’re my blue sky, you’re my sunny day…” We’re getting married on the beach so it might be perfect.

Phoenix August 28, 2012 at 7:20 am

I walked down alone to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUNSZEDfwu0 a gift of a thistle from brave heart

Moriah R August 28, 2012 at 12:00 pm

I’m considering makin plans by miranda lambert, or nuvole biance..by someone whose name I cannot. Remember right this second. Bith are sooo beautiful and fit the feel I want at my wedding. The perfect mix of classic, and very uniquley different…with a little bit of us in it

Kati Schmitt August 28, 2012 at 1:19 pm

I will be walking down the aisle to “Free” by Zak Brown Band. The extended version is amazing!

Chelsea August 29, 2012 at 7:57 pm

I walked down the aisle to “Never Think” by Robert Pattinson. The music and his voice are very raw in the song and I had an outdoor ceremony. The processional song was “I Got A Feelin” by the Black Eyed Peas…everyone got a kick out of that ;]

Sadie August 30, 2012 at 8:49 pm

I will be strolling down the aisle to “Only Time” by Enya. It just has a perfect beat and I love it.

Cici August 31, 2012 at 12:19 am

We’ll be walking down the aisle to “The Way You Are” By: Kina Grannis and David Choi. It fits us very well and we found it on YouTube :)

ashley August 31, 2012 at 12:20 am

i dream of walking down to “say wont you say” by Jennifer Knapp!

Shawna July 14, 2013 at 12:28 pm

Beautiful song!!

Heliena August 31, 2012 at 1:28 am

I am not engaged or dating anyone at the moment but I already have a song picked out either for walking down the aisle or first dance, it is called “better” by a boyband called Boyzone. It is a beautiful song. It is originally by someone else but I don’t know their name but it was on the run fat boy run soundtrack. The lyrics are amazing an I recommend it to everyone. Take a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

Alyssa August 31, 2012 at 8:24 am

I walked down the aisle to “whatever it is” by the zac brown band. My husband always said it made him think of me so it was perfect :)

Chris August 31, 2012 at 4:21 pm

My girlfriend is getting married in 2012 and is walking down the aisle to Green Apples by Chantal Kreviazuk. Beautiful song and would be perfect if green apples were part of the theme in your wedding….

Kendra August 31, 2012 at 11:19 pm

My bridemaids walked down to Rascall Flatts “broken road”…my husband walked down to Louis Armstrongs “La Vie En Rose” and I walked down to “I will” The Beatles.

Tessa September 3, 2012 at 9:49 am

I knew a lady who had a friend song Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. And I’ve always thought that would be a beautiful wedding song.

Kyla September 9, 2012 at 11:35 pm

Jennifer September 10, 2012 at 6:57 am

At the Beginning by Donna Lewis/Richard Marx. My song to dancew with my ddad is a song called Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. I cry just when I listen to it. :)

mallory carter September 10, 2012 at 9:33 am

Dont forget, when I first saw you , by jaime fox

Jessicah September 12, 2012 at 10:03 am

Marry your daughter by Brian McKnight. Makes me cry every time.

Jennifer September 13, 2012 at 1:52 pm

Fisher – I Will Love You

It’s so amazing and sweet and I wanted to find some way to incorporate it into my wedding

Conny September 15, 2012 at 6:32 pm

I’m only starting out looking at all this, but so far have decided on the following:
Walking down the aisle to All You Need Is Love by The Beatles
Recessional Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Ukulele version) or Wochenend Und Sonnenschein by Comedian Harmonists (means Weekend and Sunshine in German – I am German so it’d be nice to have a German Evergreen played)

First Dance: Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
Father/Daughter Dance: My Little Girl by Tim Mcgraw

At some point I also want to feature La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf

Aleah September 19, 2012 at 12:44 pm

I walked down to “You send me”, by Sam Cooke. We had a live band sing the song. 😉

Emily September 20, 2012 at 5:40 am

‘I Will Love You’ – Fisher, amazing wedding song,
Beautiful piano music and it asks the question –
‘I need to know, will you stay for all time….’ another lyric is
‘Till the stars fill my eyes, and we touch the last time, i will love you, forever and a day’
I listen to it every now and then (wedding is Feb 2013) and cry every time!

Courtney September 20, 2012 at 7:39 pm

We got married May 26th, 2012, and my hubby’s uncle played Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles for me to walk in to! We actually had him play that as we all walked out as well, as after the first 5 seconds the bride and groom are out of sight, no one is really paying attention anyways! :)

Emma September 21, 2012 at 5:50 pm

I got married on May 12, 2012 and I walked down the aisle to Shania Twain’s song, “From this Moment”. I cry every time I hear it because it reminds me of the moment I promised my heart and life to my best friend and now husband. :)

Quiera September 25, 2012 at 6:09 pm

You got married on my birthday! Great song choice for a great wedding date! Congratulations!

Theresa September 22, 2012 at 6:00 pm

The song I chose to walk down the aisle to was “Colour My World” by Chicago. It has a great intro then I walked down when he starts singing. Then when my new husband and I walked back down the aisle after it was “You are My inspiration” again by Chicago. The father-daughter dance was danced to Edwin Mccain “Walk with You” I had never heard that song before and I was on theknot.com. Someone had suggested it. The mother-son song was Taylor Hicks “Do I make you proud”. Over all the music we chose was good.

Nikki September 25, 2012 at 12:27 pm

Some great ideas!! I definitely don’t want to do anything traditional so I was looking for a fun and/or funny idea for songs to walk down the aisle to… Any suggestions?!

Quiera September 25, 2012 at 6:05 pm

I want to walk down the aisle to the song A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. My first dance song is going to be to Strangers in the Night by Frank Sinatra, because it suits how we met perfectly, love at first sight!

Kelsey September 26, 2012 at 12:07 pm

This one would make me cry too much! lol It is a gorgeous song!

Kelsey September 26, 2012 at 12:04 pm

I walked down to Dream by Priscilla Ahn, and balled the whole way lol it is beautiful, but sometimes I wish I had picked a song that made me cry less because I didn’t really get to enjoy the moment because I was too busy sobbing lol I saw this song on Bride Wars, & fell in love. It’s a gorgeous song if you can keep from crying too much!!

Leah September 27, 2012 at 9:49 am

I think “Steady as we go” by DMB is the perfect song to use for a first dance! I will definitely use it if I get married again! I went to a wedding a few years ago where the first dance song was “the Luckiest” by Ben Folds. I had never heard it before but it was quite beautiful, it would be a nice one to walk down the aisle to as well.

Jenn September 29, 2012 at 8:48 am

My walk was done to the instrumental song at the beginning of The Princess Bride movie. Which was fabulous but I couldn’t hear it so didn’t know when to start walking lol! My poor husband thought I was having second thoughts!

Kiely September 30, 2012 at 11:01 pm

I walked to”feels like home” by Chantal Kreviazick it’s suck a beautiful song!

Jessica October 2, 2012 at 12:03 am

I am walking down the aisle April 6, 2013 to 1000 Years by Christina Perry.

I fell in love with this song on my drive to school (it’s a 45 min drive everyday) one day after a wonderful date with my now fiancee. I started to cry happy tears and knew it would be the song I would walk down the aisle too, and now in 6 months I get to do just that!

And for those lovers of Twilight I totally fell in love with this song before it was on the new movie, being a Twilight lover myself, it was just another perk to choosing this song. :)

Mrs. Michelson October 2, 2012 at 10:01 am

My husband and I got married August 4, 2012. Our wedding party walked down to Wonderwall by Oasis (mine and my husbands song) and I walked down to Mama’s Song by Carrie Underwood. Our wedding day was PERFECT :)

Kirby October 2, 2012 at 11:28 am

Can’t believe my song is on here. First Day of My Life is what we are planning to use.

Sarah October 2, 2012 at 5:46 pm

Just a question, the picture on the top, where was it taken? It looks like the Church I got married in….St. Mark in Pittsfield MA. Is it?

Amie June 8, 2013 at 10:07 pm

I believe it’s the Duke Chapel in Durham, NC.

Catie October 3, 2012 at 12:36 pm

One song I absolutly love and want to walk do the isle to is Your Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apperatus. It a beautiful song and is very soft until the near end and I just think it would be a wonderful song for any Bride. (:

Elaine B. October 5, 2012 at 6:31 am

I love the idea of switching up the music during the ceremony, a bit. I have an awesome song that I’ve chosen as the song we walk out of the church to. It’s Dion’s “If I should fall behind”. Its cute, quirky, and just completely awesome. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

AnnaRose October 9, 2012 at 10:59 pm

I plan on walking down the isle to “When You Say You Love Me” by Josh Groban!

Cassandra October 13, 2012 at 8:22 pm

Ahhh, I love it! That’s going to be spectacular.

andrea October 10, 2012 at 6:17 pm

im walking down the isle to “a thousand years” by christina perry.. my girls are walking down to the acoustic version then im walking to the big break in the song …. so excited !

Amanda Wiseman October 11, 2012 at 3:09 pm

I am walking down the aisle to “Here I am” by Bryan Adams. Just seems very fitting for the Bride and I also Love that song :)

Cassandra October 13, 2012 at 8:20 pm

I’m fortunate enough to have a set of “adopted” sisters that play the harp and violin. (We had our own band there, for a while, with me on the classical guitar!) They’ve agreed to do my wedding music, so on March 31st, 2013, I’ll be walking down the aisle to Gabriel’s Oboe, composed by Ennio Morricone. (The very first time I heard that song, while watching The Mission, it became special to me, and has played a huge role in my life. Why not continue that tradition?)

Before the wedding starts, for the “general milling around will everyone please have a seat” music, my sis will be playing Yiruma’s River Flows In You on the celtic/folk harp.

If they can get it worked out, we’ll be exiting to Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters. (To get a feel for the instrumental version of it, check out Apocalyptica’s rendition from their Inquisition Symphony album. It totally rocks! In a very symphonic way.)

Chrissie October 16, 2012 at 3:18 pm

Better Today by Coffee Anderson…love love love it!!

TiffanyFaith October 17, 2012 at 4:50 am

There are so many incredible songs on this forum! Thank you for sharing ladies (and gents).. I am getting married on New Year Eve, and I’m in the process of picking out the perfect song for me and my fiance.. I haven’t quite decided yet, but if you gals haven’t heard Brad Paisley’s “Then”, I highly recommend it!! :) Another great song for a wedding is “I will be waiting” by D Cru, also Tomi Swick’s “A Night Like This” .. I will think of some more wonderful songs and post them!!
Good luck to all of you upcoming brides! 😀

LaTisha October 19, 2012 at 10:08 am

I walked down the isle to “My Valentine” by Martina McBride. It was beautiful.

Miranda October 21, 2012 at 1:06 pm

Christina Perri – A Thousand Years

Kim October 22, 2012 at 3:42 pm

I’m a college kid and was perusing Pandora while studying the other day on my classical music station and “I found you, you found me” by rachel currea came up. I fell in love!! No lyrics, but SUCH a romantic melody!

jessie October 22, 2012 at 8:13 pm

We have actually chosen the piano version of sweet child of mine by guns and roses. such a classic song but the piano is just heartbreakingly beautiful, perfect way to blend our music tastes but still have a traditional feel to it!

cori October 23, 2012 at 9:41 am

Im getting married nov 10, 2012. Everyone is walking down to Marry Me by Train, but my dad and i are walking down to Beautiful by Jim Brickman and Wayne Brady :)

jacki October 23, 2012 at 10:35 am

Not sure if it’s been mentioned or not…i got lost reading the comments! I’ll be walking down to “perfect” by doria roberts. I’ve been in love with it for as long as i can remember.

Amber Clark October 24, 2012 at 9:53 pm

What about “Marry Me” by Train & Martina Mcbride for walking down the aisle. Then you could also use “From here to the moon and back” by Dolly Parton from the movie Joyful Noise for walking down the aisle or first dance.

Savannah October 28, 2012 at 1:50 pm

I haven’t found the right one yet, but when I do I will walk down the aisle to Walk With You by Edwin McCain. It makes me get all teary-eyed and I get goosebumps every time I hear it!

Amanda October 28, 2012 at 9:25 pm

On the album Five Man Acoustical Jam by Tesla, there’s a FANTASTICAL intro to Love Song. Two of my husband’s friends played that on acoustic guitars for me to walk in to. <3

Sarah October 30, 2012 at 8:30 pm

I am thinking about walking down to Oklahoma Sky by Miranda Lambert, but have my friend thats singing it change it to South Dakota Sky – if he ever pops the question its going to be a outdoor wedding in the pasture….

Kelly October 31, 2012 at 6:19 am

I’m getting married next summer and were having all bluegrass music. Out bridal party is walking down to Nickel Creek’s The Smoothie Song and I’ll be walking down to the theme song to Ken Burn’s Civil War, Ashokan Farewell, kind of sad sounding, but very beautiful!

Analí Resoalbe November 1, 2012 at 11:18 am

I’m getting married next year and I’ll be waking down the aisle with the song “I LOVE YOU FOR A THOUSAND YEARS” by Christina Perri. My boyfriend listened to it by chance and then showed it to me, we both thought exactly the same “perfect song!”… later I discovered that the official video is actually about Bella and Edward’s wedding (Twilight saga, that in fact I’ve never seen)…

Enjoy it!

Roxy November 2, 2012 at 3:44 pm

If your a Beatles fan, a cover of “In My Life” performed by Jake Shimabukuro on the ukulele is so beautiful. I plan to use it in my wedding :)

Mandy November 3, 2012 at 9:47 am

Not even close to tying the knot, but I do have one thing planned. I’m walking own the aisle to the instrumental version of Sigur Ros’ Hoppipolla.

Holly November 5, 2012 at 4:29 pm

We walked down to a piano version of Hopipolla. Still gives me chills! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UuHL2O-e2WU

Lesley November 10, 2012 at 10:31 pm

I walked down to Time To Say Goodbye (Con te Partiro) by Chris Botti. The church was candle-lit only and it was magical, like we were the only two people there! I will always remember that feeling when I hear it!

Lesley November 10, 2012 at 10:39 pm

I walked down the aisle to “Time To Say Goodbye (Con te Partiro)” by Chris Botti. The church was candle-lit only and it was magical. Felt like we were the only two people there. I feel that same way every time I hear it!

Alli November 12, 2012 at 5:45 pm

Is it totally conceited to want to walk down the aisle to Allie by Harrison Hudson? Lol that’s like the one selfish thing I want to do but I’m not sure how people will think of it.

Alicia November 13, 2012 at 10:29 am

I’m planning on using the song “Angel” by Casting Crowns. It’s a gorgeous song that my fiance found when we were still dating.

Tina November 14, 2012 at 9:23 pm

We chose “marry me” by Train to walk down the isle and “home” by Phillip Phillips to exit the ceremony. The go so well together and fit into out vintage wedding perfectly!

Meaghan Williams November 15, 2012 at 2:01 am

I walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. Our bridesmaids & groomsmen walked down to “Marry Me” by Train. We were married on May 19, 2012. :)

Emily November 17, 2012 at 9:27 pm

I love the song Turning Page by Sleeping at Last, though I’ve never seen or read any of the Twilight series, I’ve loved that song for a while now. I also love It’s OK With Me by Manchester Orchestra, possibly for the first dance or a slow dance at some point. I want to walk out of the church/venue with something fun/exciting, like Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. And I’d love to walk into the reception hall to the Rocky theme song. I know, crazy, but that’s what I like! (And can you tell I’m a big Rocky fan?!)

Emily November 17, 2012 at 9:40 pm

Also, can I just say, I am a COMPLETE sap when it comes to Disney songs, like “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” “A Whole New World,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Cheesy, but I’m probably going to play them at my reception anyway!

Alyssa November 18, 2012 at 4:45 am

My fiance and I are still working on all the details, but I found a gorgeous piano arrangement of Everyday, sung by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens on High School Musical 2. I’ve always adored the song, but I didn’t want vocals in my processional. The piano version is beautiful and I think it’s perfect for our big day :)

Christine November 18, 2012 at 8:28 pm

Getting married March 15! We are having a bluegrass band for the ceremony. doing instrumental covers. Bridesmaids will walk to “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” by Deathcab for Cutie, then I’m walking in to “All Your Life” by The Band Perry and then we will walk out together to “Won’t Stop” by OneRepublic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoxHoLXixkk

Kelsi Peacock November 19, 2012 at 7:39 pm

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri long enough to use for a decent sized wedding party, big break in the middle to pause for the announcement of the bride “but watching you stand alone, all of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow, one step closer….I’ve loved you for a thousand years, I’ll love you for a thousand more”

Kristy November 30, 2012 at 3:41 am

I walked down the aisle to Nothing Else Matters, by Metallica.. i love that song:)

Barbie December 1, 2012 at 8:04 am

I’m walking down the isle to The Beatles ~ Here, There and Everywhere.

Vea December 2, 2012 at 2:08 am

Well, I’m posting this not because I’m getting married.:) I’m the pianist for this couple getting married at church tomorrow. I have only today to practice all the songs. They’ve just asked me yesterday to play the piano for their wedding. Here are the songs I’m going to play:
_Ribbon cutting – Minuet in G ( Bach)
_Groom and bride family members entrance – Air (James Hook)
_Ushers and candle lighters – Canon in D (Johann Pachelbel)
_Best Man, Pastor, Groom, Bible boy – Largo ( Handel)
_ Maid of Honor – Song of the Torreadore (Georges Bizet)
_ Flower Girls – Menuet in G ( Anon.)
_Bride – Bridal Chorus (Richard Wagner)
_Wedding March – (Mendelssohn)
LOL , I guess I’ll be playing a long list of songs and for the pastor’s blessings/prayer for the couple, idk yet what song I’ll be playing, maybe Amazing grace or A Heaven on Earth ( Sally DeFord).

Anon December 6, 2012 at 11:47 pm

Call me crazy, but every time I hear “Big” by Sneaky Sound System I imagine myself walking down the aisle to it…. bridesmaids spaced out during the first and second verses, and my coming at the “always by your side up until it ends” part….

Larissa December 7, 2012 at 12:19 am

I’m not getting married yet but I have two choices so far I was thinking “stealing Cinderella” by chuck wicks and enchanted by Taylor swift.

Erin Power December 7, 2012 at 9:21 am

I personally used Jason Mraz “I won’t Give Up,” when I walked down the aisle. If you do decide to use this one though I would suggest using the Demo Version, it’s so beautiful and towards the end he switches the words from “because we’re worth it” to ” Lady you’re with it” and that’s where I walked down. : )

Jessica W December 11, 2012 at 2:17 pm

My wedding date is June 1st, 2013! I will be walking down the aisle to Train’s “Get to me”. I will be releasing a few small butterflies as well.

Lindsay December 16, 2012 at 10:13 am

I walked down to “Oh My Love” by John Lennon. Beautiful song and lyrics. My bridal party walked out to Clair de Lune by Debussy and also Carousel by Billy Joel. Both instrumental pieces. And we chose “Good Day” by Jukebox the Ghost for our recessional. It was upbeat and fun after a serious ceremony.

Kalen December 17, 2012 at 11:28 pm

I used marry me by train. It fit us perfectly and I LOVE train!

Amanda December 22, 2012 at 8:48 pm

My husband and I got married over 3 years of ago, if it had only existed then I would’ve walked down the aisle to M83’s Outro. Completely haunting, beautiful and epic all rolled into one. I love the end when it gets softer, would be perfect for when the bride walks down. Please listen, it will be worth your time.

jaime December 23, 2012 at 7:09 am

This is so pretty, Amanda!

Jordan December 23, 2012 at 1:45 am

Drops of Jupiter by train I’d walk down the isle too that song

Trudy January 1, 2013 at 12:13 am

I was married August 28th 2011 and walked down the aisle to Coldplay’s “Fix You,” only it was a cover by an all-cello group called Low Strung. Here’s a link: http://m.youtube.com/#/watchv=asQlNaGn0CI&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DasQlNaGn0CI
It never gets old and always gives me goosebumps :-)

Tarah January 1, 2013 at 2:29 am

Train– Marry me
Jimmy Wayne — you are
Nsync–this I promise you
Bret micheals–all I ever needed

Heather January 1, 2013 at 3:32 am

I was married Dec 6 2008 and our aisle song was thank you for loving me by bon Jovi! If marry me by train had been out then it would have been that

Alexandra January 1, 2013 at 4:48 pm

I will be walking down the isle to “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross. It’s such a beautiful song. I’m so excited.

Sara January 2, 2013 at 12:10 pm

i walked down the isle to a beautiful piano version of “Unchained Melody” :) it was PERFECT!

brett January 6, 2013 at 9:59 pm

i got married two months ago. my bridal party/rings bearers/flower girls walked down to “postcards from italy” by beirut. i walked down to “sea of love” by cat power. we took communion to “nothing holding me back” by bryan and katie torwalt–THE MOST beautiful song ever for people having a religious wedding. our recessional was the the part where the bass drops in “paradise” by coldplay.

we entered our reception to “my dear” by bethel & hunter thompson and had our first dance to “hazy” by william fitzsimmons & rosi golan. i danced with my father to “moon river.” we left the reception through a tunnel of sparklers to “you are the best thing” by ray lamontagne!

Sarah January 10, 2013 at 11:36 pm

I got married Dec 30, 2012, and everyone walked down the aisle to an orchestra version of “Secrets”… It was perfect, and after they anounced us we walked back to “Sweet Disposition” which is our favorite song :)

Katie January 10, 2013 at 11:52 pm

I’m planing on a winter wedding near Christmas time and have started teaching elementary kids and feel that the song “Christmas Canon” by trans-siberian orchestra would be perfect for the time of year.

Lori January 11, 2013 at 9:08 pm

After I was widowed in 2005 at the age of 35, I thought I would never find, love, or marry anyone else. Thankfully God had a very different plan and led me to my soul mate whom I married in the summer of 2008. In a very intimate ceremony of 200 (yes, intimate, we’re from the south and have big families), we said our vows. I walked down the aisle and was given away by my beautiful 6 year old daughter to the almost as beautiful lyrics and music of the song “These are the Days” by Van Morrison. The song was performed by my very talented friend Wade Garmon and his daughter Katie. Perfect song for our perfect day with friends and family surrounding us! Find a copy of the lyrics-beautiful song!!

Tammy January 12, 2013 at 11:28 pm

We are getting married in June and I’m walking down the aisle to “At Last” by Etta James. I’ve been divorced 21 years and we are marrying kind of late in life. I’ve had that song chosen since I heard it 6 years ago. Our unity candle song will be “God Blessed the Broken Road”…again, because of our prior history before we found each other. I don’t have the others chosen yet.

Caroline January 13, 2013 at 11:23 am

I walked down the aisle on “Forever” from Ben Harper…Everyone cried..:)

Kayleigh Morris January 13, 2013 at 1:40 pm

So I’ve got to many to choose from to walk down the aisle to. I want the power of love but its a bit depressing. I love loads of the string quartet covers and ADORE Halo and God bless the broken road. Theres loads more. All I do know is we are walking out to I Believe in a Thing Called Love by The Darkness 😉 xxxx

KEY January 14, 2013 at 8:34 am

Great song is Gonna Be Ready by Yalonda Adams, it makes me cry everytime i listen to it.

Emma January 14, 2013 at 12:40 pm

Rosie Thomas’s version of Songbird originally by Fleet Wood Mac. I’d probably have a friend sing it and edit it for time, but the lyrics and music are absolutely gorgeous.

Erin January 15, 2013 at 4:48 pm

I have no plans in getting married, but here are a few more…:

“Everything” by Lifehouse
“Today” by Joshua Radin
“Only You” by Joshua Radin
“They Bring Me to You” by Joshua Radin
“Let It Be Me” Ray Lamontagne
“You Got What I Need” by Joshua Radin (I just love this guy!)
“So Are You to Me” by Peter Bradley Adams (or eastmountainsouth)
“You Dance” by Peter Bradley Adams (also another version by his band, eastmountainsouth)
These are a handful that haven’t really been mentioned…Wonderful Tonight and At Last are also my other favorites.

Liz B January 15, 2013 at 9:44 pm

I really want a sunflower wedding in late September and a friend suggested to walk down the aisle to “here comes the sun.” Couldn’t be more perfect in my opinion!

Rachel Hunter January 16, 2013 at 8:38 pm

We are going to do You and Me by Lifehouse :)

Becki January 18, 2013 at 8:06 am

I’m getting married in summer 2014 and right now I’m thinking I’ll walk down the aisle to an acoustic instrumental version of I Miss You by Incubus. And our first dance will be Stellar (acoustic) by Incubus.

Lacey's January 20, 2013 at 5:07 pm

Getting married May 18, 2013, and I am walking to “River Flows in You” by Yiruma. It’s beautiful and there’s a change in tone right towards the end at just the right time for me to start my walk. I love this song! It’s beautiful!

sheena January 20, 2013 at 11:01 pm

rascall flatts ‘ bless this broken road’ my sister will be singing it while my brother plays the guitar for when I walk down the aisle, as it is outside, a couple of close friend will be holding up some old wooden doors that will conceal me till the last line in the second verse, those that know the song will know what I mean. :)

Roselin January 21, 2013 at 9:25 pm

The song I walked down the aisle to was a surprise! My husband chose the song before the wedding and I didn’t hear it until I started walking down the aisle. He chose “You’re Beautiful” by Phil Wickham. :)

kristy January 21, 2013 at 10:37 pm

Still deciding on my entrance song, but I picked Unity by Shinedown as our recessional song. It’s absolutely amazing. And I want to incorporate one of our favorite bands!

Truly January 22, 2013 at 8:36 am

We are getting married Feb. 9th 2013, and im walking down the isle to Kim Walkers- How he loves us. Its a worship song, but i love it! Its a beautiful song. They have a part whee she talks but that can easily be cut out. :)

Alysa January 22, 2013 at 1:46 pm

“Back At One” by Brian McKnight is going to be our wedding song, but I’m walking down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. My boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage since we’ve met. But we won’t be setting a date until about another year or so. I have a promise ring, but that’s all I have right now. But besides that, we have pretty much everything planned out for our wedding.

Cassandra January 27, 2013 at 6:47 pm

My fiance and I will be doing a waltz to “I won’t give up” for our first dance. It means so much to us since I’ve only really been able to see him on the weekend since he joined the military in August. The words to the song resonated in my mind and I knew that moment we were going to dance to that song. Still looking for a song to walk down the aisle to.

Aimee January 27, 2013 at 7:53 pm

For the music for all of the guests arriving, I stumbled upon a CD of instrumental Disney songs and chose a few of those, but I was amazed when I came across the Vitamin String Quartet and used some of their songs, too.
Mothers/Grandmothers-“Don’t Stop Believin'”
Bridesmaids-“Tiny Dancer”
Bride-“I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” (the beginning is perfect for the “Please rise…”)
Recessional–the actual version of “Life is a Highway”
As the guests left-VSQ songs “Sweet Child of Mine”, “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Livin’ on a Prayer”

Ashley January 28, 2013 at 3:39 pm

Here is me walking down to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri –

Hayley January 28, 2013 at 4:26 pm

Im getting married July 20th. Im walking down the isle to Desree ‘kissing you’ from romeo and juliet. I adore it and think it will sound great with the choir and organ playing.

Brienne January 28, 2013 at 8:59 pm

Hi there – Great idea! Never would have thought of la vie en rose but it’s lovely! One that I am leaning heavily towards for my walk down the aisle is “The Shape of Us” by Ian Britt. Ingrid Michaelson’s version of “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” is also very pretty. Made me cry just listening to it! Enjoy!

Amanda G. January 31, 2013 at 3:06 am

I can’t believe no one suggested the song I’m probably going to be using. “Angel” by Jack Johnson. It’s either that or Ingrid Michaelson’s version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Bridesmaids will be walking in to the Vitamin String Quartet version of either “Yellow” (Coldplay) or “Sunshower.” (Chris Cornell) I want to walk out to “You are the Best Thing,” but the fiance is putting up a fuss. We’re walking in to the reception to “Danger! High Voltage” by Electric Six. Our song will be “Finally Forever” by Chris Cornell. (Fiance’s a fan if you couldn’t tell.) Father/daughter dance is most likely going to be to “When I Look at You” by Miley Cyrus. Pretty sure there won’t be a dry eye with that one. Haven’t really figured out any others yet. But I still have about 8 months…September 1st, 2013. :-)

Alexis March 8, 2013 at 12:48 pm

Our first dance was to Jack Johnson’s No Other Way – hubby’s pick :) Check out Tracy Chapman’s “Wedding Song” too – for me, it was/is the most perfect wedding song ever lol… maybe you will like it too… congrats on your Sept wedding!! :)

Questionable February 6, 2013 at 8:50 pm

What about Patience by Guns & Roses? The lyrics have great meaning, but is that appropriate for a wedding song??

Keri February 7, 2013 at 6:23 pm

We danced our first dance to an acoustical guitar player sing The Wedding Song by Angus & Julia Stone. Use the youtube joeburton77 version with Angus singing. We modified the words “making babies on the beach” to “making love on the beach” It was incredible

Christine C. February 7, 2013 at 8:06 pm

I’m walking down the aisle to: Marry Me from Train. My fiancé also played this song while he proposed – so it has special meaning on top of being a beautiful song.

Stephanie February 9, 2013 at 7:16 pm

Look up I adore you by Nikki Hassman. It is part of the “Wedding Planner” soundtrack. It will not dissappoint!

ul54 February 10, 2013 at 7:19 am

Interesting site, and interesting suggestions. I’ve been married almost 39 years, but I have a son getting married next year. Thus I cruise wedding sites for ideas, etc. I walked down the aisle to John Denver’s For Baby For Bobbie–unusual for my day, but the lyrics are so fitting for a wedding–and very easy to walk to. I would also suggest the forever beautifulf and meaningful Wedding Song by Paul Stookey.
Wishing all of you new brides a joyful married life!

Jamie February 10, 2013 at 11:15 am

When I was little my dad used to sing “my girl” by the Temptations to me. He passed away when I was 4. So I’m walking down the aisle to “my girl” as a way to symbolize going from being my dads girl and becoming my husbands.

Madison February 10, 2013 at 9:56 pm

After changing the song I want to walk down the aisle to about a dozen time I decided on “Only Girl” by the Band Perry and it was perfect!

Lanette February 15, 2013 at 8:57 pm

I’m walking down the aisle to the first part of ‘Free’ by the Zac Brown Band. The music is beautiful. My aunt will sing and my uncle will play guitar.

Julia February 18, 2013 at 12:27 pm

One of my friends walked down the aisle to Ed Sheeran’s “Give me Love”. It worked so beautifully and sounded amazing.

Mariska February 19, 2013 at 2:28 pm

I’m walking down the isle on “The Prayer” performed by Celtic Women. It is absolutely stunning!

Juliana February 20, 2013 at 4:08 pm

My bridal party walked in to Reign of Love by Coldplay and I walked down the aisle to a piano instrumental version (David Lanz) of Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. We walked out to ‘I Feel Good’ by James Brown – made for a fun and memorable wedding!!

Brittany J. February 21, 2013 at 11:55 am

I will be walking down the aisle to The Piano Guys version of Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years …. It’s perfect and even has a hidden part of the wedding march towards the end

Olivia February 21, 2013 at 4:16 pm

Also, Rascal Flatts’ Bless The Broken Road. There’s a piano instrumental that would be perfect for a wedding ceremony.

krystle February 23, 2013 at 1:11 am

I’m getting married July 20th I was thinking about DREAM by Priscilla ahn. What do you all think?

Kathy C February 27, 2013 at 12:25 pm

We used “Crazy Love” by Michael Buble.

Laury L March 2, 2013 at 6:54 pm

Processional – On My Wedding Day, Don Henley
Bride – Right Here, Right Now, Sheri Miller
Ceremony – Love Never Fails, Brandon Heath
Recessional – Wouldn’t It Be Nice, The Beach Boys (I’m a CA girl)

jerrica March 3, 2013 at 1:18 pm

i love the song Soulmate by Josh Turner! It’ll definitely be in there somewhere at our vow renewal in April 2015.

jill March 5, 2013 at 9:19 am

We had Led Zeppelin’s “Thank You”, but I’ve always wished we’d used Loggins and Messina’s “Watching the River Run” instead. Here’s an acoustic version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gf_78AoT_tM

Sarah March 7, 2013 at 7:32 am

“Love”- by Musiq soulchild. Beautiful!

Alexis March 8, 2013 at 12:41 pm

We walked up to “Wedding Song” by Tracy Chapman – the lyrics are so perfect. I think the song is absolutely amazing and have no idea how it seems to have been completely missed by the wedding planning community lol 😉 So glad I found it :)

Miranda March 12, 2013 at 6:43 pm

I got married 4 years ago and walked down the aisle to “At Last” by Etta James. It was perfect! After we were presented as husband and wife we walked back up the aisle to “white Wedding” by billy idol. It was so fun and everyone loved it.

Elizabeth March 13, 2013 at 11:27 am

Now that I’ve found you – Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed <3

Vanessa March 14, 2013 at 7:27 pm

I am getting married and I would love to walk down to Rob Thomas’ little wonders!

ashley gourley March 17, 2013 at 1:03 am

We were just married this last October and our family members and bridal party walked (or rather skipped) to The Lumineers’ “Ho-Hey”. We had a friend of ours cover John Mayer’s “Love is a Verb” for my walk down the aisle and we had him cover Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More” for our recessional. Everything was so cheerful and the lyrics so meaningful!

Lumineers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvCBSSwgtg4

John Mayer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doZOMXh_oIk

Mumford & Sons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujv3c0TqLRk

Sarah April 3, 2013 at 11:24 am

I got married a while back but I walked down the aisle to ‘Love Changes Everything” from the Andrew Lloyd Weber show of the same name. It is a beautiful song

Sarita April 3, 2013 at 5:47 pm

Thinking of walking down the aisle to “Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop” by Landon Pigg. It’s so pretty, I totally cried when I heard it! :) First dance for sure is to, I Can’t Wait by Runner Runner. Check them out!

jaime April 4, 2013 at 8:10 am

I’d love to find an acoustic version of that Landon Pigg song – it would be amazing!

Jessica April 5, 2013 at 11:21 pm

We used quite a bit of the “Pride & Prejudice” Soundtrack for the ceremony. I believe the song I walked in to was called “Dawn”. I had a friend of mine play the songs on the piano and it was fantastic! Everyone kept complimenting the music choices the rest of the evening.

Stacey April 6, 2013 at 4:05 pm

I was looking for something a little edgier so we decided on “When I Look Into You’re Eyes” by Firehouse. Would also be a good first dance song.

Kat April 7, 2013 at 10:45 am

My bridesmaids and I walked down the aisle to a friend’s acoustic rendition of Strawberry Swing by Coldplay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb9X5jMofEo), and my friend also played the ending chorus of Chicago by Sufjan Stevens (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azGIf74ICmw) for our recessional. It was preeeetty perfect! We didn’t have dancing at our wedding, just ’cause that’s so not my husband and me, but if we HAD we probably would’ve had our first dance to Mirrorball by Elbow. Because I’m pretty sure that song says it ALL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMD7FIpq11Q)!

Ashley April 8, 2013 at 11:30 pm

Getting married July 20, 2013 and I know for sure I will walk down to Jason Mraz “I’m yours”. The part towards the end where the tempo changes and the lyrics “I won’t hesitate no more, no more. It cannot wait, I’m yours” play are the perfect moment to walk out with my Dad. I think I want my fiancée and bridesmaids will walk to “bless the broken road” by rascal flats, but I ‘m still not 100% on that song.

Catherine April 9, 2013 at 11:00 am

I walked down the aisle to “Trumpet Voluntary”(with trumpet). I felt like a princess and it set the tone for a traditional service.

misty April 10, 2013 at 2:10 pm

I am walking down the aisle to “broken roads” by rascal flatts, because on that day that road is leading me straight to him :) and we both have horrible pasts and finally found each other at the rip age of 27

Lou April 11, 2013 at 5:17 pm

my wedding guest walked in to a guitar version of Bella’s song from the twilight saga ..ok my husband his groomsmen ring bearer(step son) and ring security ( my twin boys) walk in to ZZ Top sharp dressed man(lol so cute and funny) then my bridal party walked in to a flute/piano version of our song which is from Avenged Sevenfold-Warmness on the Soul..at a break in the song where electric guitars play in the doors open revealing me and walk in to the end of that song…

carol andrews April 14, 2013 at 9:32 am

My cousin got married last summer and at my suggestion she walked down the isle to a thousand years by christina perry. I love that song.

Jocelyn April 17, 2013 at 1:36 am

Having worked at Disneyworld and been a Disney gal all my life I have always wanted a piece of princess on my wedding day but not in the cheesy way but had no idea how to accomplish it until I stumbled across one artist. One day on Pandora I found David Huntsinger and his jazzy versions of all of the classics. His album Wish Upon A Star Vol. 1 has all the classic princess songs in elegant and classy modern versions. I will be dancing my first dance to his rendition of So This Is love, but any one of his are excellent contenders for walking down the isle for the girl needing that touch of magic on their wedding day.

Micia April 23, 2013 at 8:03 am

You should maybe add, “I loved her first” by heartland…that is an AMAZING song for a father daughter dance…

Kim April 25, 2013 at 12:48 pm

Getting married in September. Just started looking for music – thinking of using Adele’s “To Make You Feel My Love” to walk down the aisle.

Jessica May 1, 2013 at 1:11 pm

Yes! Me too!

Faith April 30, 2013 at 9:52 pm

I’m not married yet, but I will walk down the aisle in just over a year to ‘Take My Breath Away’ by Berlin. The inspiration came from my father describing his reaction to seeing my mother walk down the aisle on their wedding day. He said that ‘he literally lost his breath and had to gasp at how perfect and beautiful she was’. Ever since I have dreamed of ‘taking the breath’ from the man of my dreams!

Jessica May 1, 2013 at 1:09 pm

I’m walking down the aisle to Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”. I also considered John Legrnd’s “Stay With You” and Bruno Mars’ “Rest Of My Life”. All beautiful songs!!!

Maryann Campoli May 2, 2013 at 6:33 pm

I need a suggestion for walking my daughter down the aisle. My husband passed away 12 years ago, and it I can’t think of a Mother/Daughter song.
Any suggestions?

Amy May 14, 2013 at 10:25 pm

For my sister’s wedding, she walked down the isle to a piano instrumental version of “Marry Me” by Train and it was beautiful!

Melissa May 20, 2013 at 6:31 am

I walked down the aisle to Here & Now by Luther Vandross. My husband proposed to me when that song was playing, I walked down the aisle to it and it was our first dance.

Our recessional was KC& Jojo All My Life.

here May 26, 2013 at 3:11 am

I walked down the aisle to Here She Comes. The lyrics are so beautiful! :)

Deborah May 29, 2013 at 1:04 pm

Maybe someone already said this? 10 years ago I walked down the aisle to Nat King Cold and Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable”. It has the perfect instrumental intro. I made other music choices I would go back and change if I could, but my walk down the aisle was perfect!

Margaritak May 29, 2013 at 2:25 pm

I saw Vitamin String Quartet mentioned in the earlier comments and felt compelled to reiterate how well their instrumentals work for songs normally considered “off-limits” for most weddings. As a moody, melancholy adolescent, I was obsessed with The Cure and The Smiths and thought it would be fun incorporate their music into my wedding. I didn’t give the idea much serious consideration however, because, well, it’s The Cure and The Smiths, two bands not exactly known for positive energy and joy. Luckily for me, my maid of honor stumbled across the VSQ tribute albums for both bands. It was tough for me to choose, but walking down the aisle to the VSQ instrumental cover of the Smith’s “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” really made that moment even more special.

Jenna June 7, 2013 at 8:24 am

Alicia Keys released the beautiful “Girl on Fire”

In the beginning of the song, she’s only referring to, “this Girl is on fire…” This would be about the time I’m walking down the aisle. There’s a pretty good spot to pause it during this.
Then, it switches to both her & Him, “They’re walking on fire…” where we’ll continue the song as we both exit the ceremony together.

Our first dance will be to Bob Dylan’s song, “You Belong to Me” http://vimeo.com/36544415
as it holds a special sentiment; it was the first song he ever shared with me. Only months after meeting & not to soon before he told me he’d marry me someday. <3

Kelli June 8, 2013 at 7:28 pm

We are renewing out wedding vows this November after 15 years of marriage. We did not have a wedding as got married at the local courthouse. I thought about using Alan Jackson’s remember when.

CaityCat June 21, 2013 at 4:41 pm

I’m going to be walking down the aisle to this song.

Or this version of this song.

Krysta June 21, 2013 at 7:17 pm

I was thinking of using Don’t wanna close my eyes, by Aerosmith or bless the broken road by Rascal Flatts….I’m still trying to decide….

Victoria June 23, 2013 at 7:26 am

We went to a wedding just recently and they played ‘I just can’t stop loving you’ by Michael Jackson during the whole bridal march. It was PERFECT.

Leslie June 26, 2013 at 8:00 pm

We are getting married July 13, 2013 and I am walking down the aisle to The Piano Guys- A Thousand Years. The instrumental is gorgeous.

GroomDude June 29, 2013 at 8:42 pm

I want to suggest to my bride-to-be that she walk down the aisle to “What you want” by the John Butler Trio. Song here:

Because the bridal party will be walking out to Mozart, e.g.,

the wind instruments that begin “What you Want” are a nice segue from this, and at the same time, the difference in power (properly) elevates the importance of the bride. Or at least that’s my hope and belief.

Any thoughts before I suggest this?

misty July 3, 2013 at 10:22 pm

im walking down the isle to god bless the broken road

Monica July 7, 2013 at 8:30 pm

My fiancé and I have both overcome so much in our lives to get where we are. My walk down the isle song is “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. It’s so touching and appropriate for us!

Anne July 10, 2013 at 6:26 pm

I’m planning on the instrumental version of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters
not only does it have a good beat to it to walk too… little edgier for us and still soft enough for everyone.. Plus it’s something we always say to each other…nothing else matters…because we can get through anything as long as we have each other.
here’s the link: http://youtu.be/qYkClrLauNs

Amanda July 19, 2013 at 6:42 pm

My sister walked down the aisle to the song Marry Me by Train. It was beautiful :)

Christine July 22, 2013 at 9:10 am

Marry Me – is the song my fiancé had playing in the background while he proposed. I too will be walking down the aisle to this song. I can’t wait!!!!

Meredith July 20, 2013 at 11:49 am

I’m going with My Destiny by Lionel Richie!

Jessica turner July 20, 2013 at 4:28 pm

My father is recently deceased. I am a twin and my father had told his best friend (escorting me) that as such a music lover he had hoped we would live our lives like the song “I hope you dance” by Leann Womack… Sept.2 nd 2013 I will be going down to the instrumentals!

April Allen July 21, 2013 at 4:46 pm

I walked down the aisle to Enya Watermark I think one of the most beautiful instrumental songs of all time.

Jessica July 22, 2013 at 9:49 pm

Thank you for loving me by Bon Jovi
Everyone loved this choice!

Meghann July 23, 2013 at 4:48 pm

We are walking to Forever and For Always by Shania Twain. It’s fun and light and has amazing lyrics!

New Groom August 10, 2013 at 1:28 pm

This Is My Pick,
Simply Amazing…………….. !
What do you Gals Think ?

Ashley August 17, 2013 at 9:32 pm

Hey everyone! My and my fiance are still in the early stages of planning our wedding.
I am a huge Beyonce fan, so to walk down the aisle we are choosing When I first Saw You – Jamie Foxx and Beyonce!

Ashley August 17, 2013 at 9:33 pm

Maria February 11, 2014 at 9:02 pm

My wedding party and I were introduced to “crazy in love”. It was in2007 so not used too much and it got everyone on their feet ready to dance

Haze August 18, 2013 at 12:23 am

I’m sooooo soooo lucky, my now husband actually found the PERFECT song for our 1st dance. However, I changed it to my entrance… My cousin is a singer and I had him play/sing his version of Last Love by Matrimony!!! It truly made for my perfect, magical entrance… It’s an amazing song!!

Katie August 18, 2013 at 4:43 pm

I’ve been to two weddings now that have played “A thousand years” by Christina Perry its so beautiful. I also like “love story” by taylor swift

Brooke August 21, 2013 at 11:22 pm

I’m walking down the isle St. Patricks Day 2014.
And I’m going to have Turning Page by Sleeping At Last play as I walk down the isle.
Although I have yet to decide if I wanted just the instrumental or the vocals.

Lindsay August 26, 2013 at 8:45 pm

Mama’s Song by Carrie Underwood the instrumental version is beautiful. I didn’t realize how perfect this song was until I heard it without words.

Angela August 27, 2013 at 3:35 am

My bridesmaids are walking to “Mellon Colie and the Infinate Sadness” from Smashing Pumpkins. Beautiful instrumental.
I’m walking to “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone.

Stephanie August 31, 2013 at 8:22 pm

I’m getting married October 12, 2013. I’m walking to the song “Where is my Mind”, its a Pixies song, but we are doing the cover piano version by Maxence Cyrin. I love this song so much. It has the slow pace I’ve been looking for, but is different from traditional songs. Best of all, I love the original, so it was great to be able to incorporate it!

Loren September 11, 2013 at 11:25 am

For a fun, silly song to play as you walk out and into your married life, “My Zing” from Hotel Transylvania is pretty high on my list. It definitely lends a feisty and celebratory atmosphere! 😀

Rebecca September 14, 2013 at 12:19 pm

I waIked down the aisle to Chantal Kreviazuk “Feels like home” such a beautiful song. Fell in love with it years ago on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack.

Amber October 29, 2013 at 2:59 am

I walked down the aisle to David Sides’ piano version of Nickelback’s Far Away. We bought it on iTunes. My attendants walked into Can You Feel the Love instrumental. Our recessional was an homage to my Dad who is deceased. Mine and his song — Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison. It was perfect.

Sasha November 9, 2013 at 11:23 am

I walked down the aisle to “Clancy’s Theme” from “The Man From Snowy River” soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxe0h5zxynA. Our recessional was the instrumental version of “Hey Jude” from “The Royal Tenenbaum’s” soundtrack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__t7xZvw0vs.

Megan November 11, 2013 at 5:42 pm

I have every intention of walking down the isle to “Where Do I Begin?” by Idina Menzel. Such a beautiful song with so much emotion :)

Tara November 13, 2013 at 10:05 pm

I walked down the aisle to George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart”, and after we were married, we walked UP the aisle to Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life” – they were the perfect balance of VOWS and JOY

Amy November 18, 2013 at 10:57 pm

We’re getting married in an evening candle-lit ceremony on January 25th, so my four girls and I will be walking down the aisle to “The Wedding Gift” by Rawlins Cross. It’s perfectly suited for our ‘woodsy winter wonderland’ themed wedding, and is a nod to both mine and my fiance’s Celtic heritage. It’s written and performed by a group from my beloved home of Nova Scotia, so it holds special meaning to me for that reason as well. :)

Anna November 22, 2013 at 11:18 am

Whenever I do get married, our first dance will be to our couples song: Tangled Up In You by Aaron Lewis, just himself, and not the staind version.

Christina Gutierrez November 24, 2013 at 7:42 pm

We used “Bloom” By the Paper Kites.
We had a really simple backyard wedding and it has the perfect chorus for a “here comes the bride” moment.
Hands down the best decision we made for the wedding!

Laura November 30, 2013 at 7:29 pm

We had my husband’s uncle who is a professional pianist do an instrumental version of Songbird by fleetwood Mac (and on Glee). Everyone loved and commented on how pretty it was! There are lots of good instrumental versions on YouTube.

Mandi December 4, 2013 at 1:18 pm

I just got married on Saturday, November 30, 2013 and walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. Love the band, love the song, fit us perfectly.

Nicole January 2, 2014 at 12:06 am

I’m getting married in June 2014. We are both music lovers, I sing jazz and gospel in my non work hours. :) Needless to say, it’s going to be a wedding full of music. :) To name a few, Bride’s Entrance will be “When I First Saw You” (from Dreamgirls). “A Promise I Will Keep” (Billy & Sarah Gaines) for communion and registry signing. Recessional will be “Something’s Got a Hold On Me” by Leela James. First Dance…still deciding between “Mr. Incredible, Ms. Unforgettable” (Leela James) or “Man and Wife” (Michelle Featherstone). I’m so excited!!

Andrea Wiederhoeft January 19, 2014 at 2:02 pm

My boyfriend and I have talked about getting married in like 5 or so years and we love Golden, When You Got A Good Thing and Compass all by Lady Antebellum. Not sure how we will use them when we plan the wedding. Any one have a idea? Thanks

Andrea Wiederhoeft January 19, 2014 at 3:01 pm

We also love I Run To You and Cant Take My Off You. These are also by Lady Antebellum.

Maria February 11, 2014 at 8:58 pm

True romance theme song by Hans Zimmerman . For procession and bride.
I wish my church would have let me use it.

Samantha April 18, 2014 at 8:42 pm

To all the people who used VSQ- LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about them. I wanted something contemporary yet weddingesque for our October 6th, 2012 wedding. our parents/grandparents were seated to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” in strings, the wedding party entered to “Satalite” (Dave Matthews Band) by VSQ, my song was “Yellow” (Coldplay) by VSQ! the moment I heard the opening bars, I pictured myself walking down the aisle 😀 we exited to “Everything” (Michael Buble) by VSQ- all music at our ceremony was in strings but it was still the modern music that I love and our guests commented on how awesome the music was!

Melinda April 20, 2014 at 11:05 pm

All I Want is You by U2 will be our first dance but the Vitamin String Quartet or ‘Pickin On’ series version will be my walk down the aisle. Only my man and I will truly get it but that’s what makes it special… it’s beautiful by any one of the artists.

De May 5, 2014 at 3:00 pm

I am going to walk down the aisle to “Storybook Love”. It was the first song that came to mind when I thought about what song I want to use. The traditional wedding march just isn’t right for us. I never pictured myself walking to that. We are going to ask a friend to play it on guitar and sing it. He has a great voice. I think it’ll be beautiful.

“Across the Universe” covered by Rufus Wainwright is on our list of songs we’re going to use because both of us love it, but we aren’t sure when we’re going to use it.

Kelly Hughes May 17, 2014 at 12:07 pm

I am using Divine Romance by Phil Whickham :)

JoyAnna May 20, 2014 at 8:05 am

My mom walked down the aisle to the theme music from The Princess Bride And my aunt walked down the aisle to the song from Ice Castles called “Through the eyes of Love” and I think that is truly beautiful.

Jennifer May 26, 2014 at 3:01 pm

At some point during my wedding/reception, I’m going to use the song Lost in this Moment by Big & Rich.

Valerie May 30, 2014 at 6:49 am

It looks like I’ll be walking down the aisle to “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC

Robin January 3, 2015 at 4:43 pm

Our processional was “At the Beginning” by Donna Lewis and Richard Marx. My dad was able to slow the background music a bit, and the singers skipped a chorus. It worked to get everybody- Groom’s entrance, parents, 4 attendants, and me- down the aisle. When I made it to the end of the aisle the words said were, “In the end I want to be standing at the beginning with you.”

Kitty January 15, 2015 at 10:32 pm

Great suggestions!
I’m prepping for a early December 2015 wedding and I’m using 3 pieces from the Doctor Who soundtracks, but I’m ending with “The Wedding of River Song” from the series 6 soundtrack!
I’m at a little bit of an advantage though, because I’m an audio editor, I can cut and edit it into the exact parts of the songs that I want.

Jessica March 6, 2015 at 4:43 pm

my wedding party will be walking down the aisle to “Good day for Marrying You” by Dave Barnes and I’ll be walking to marry me by train
