Something Different: Short Wedding Dresses and Reception Dresses

by jaime on June 11, 2012

Not every bride-to-be is looking for a long dress – or even one with a lot of volume. So, to avoid leaving any of our girls out, I wanted to select some of the dresses that I truly loved that will work either as short wedding dresses or, for those of you trying two styles, will work as a reception dress.

(FYI, a reception dress is the garment you wear after the ceremony  – usually it’s slightly more casual and comfortable, making it easier for the bride to get around during her reception.)

Tell me which one is your favorite!

Another bonus about all of these dresses? You can buy them online! Click the links below the pictures to see more details – and you can find many more dresses at each of the locations.

For our already-brides, tell us: did you have a reception dress? What dress did you choose, and why did you go that route? I’ve been debating on getting a reception dress partially because of the extreme heat that comes around during June in Michigan, but I’m not yet decided… so I’d love ideas!

I actually just ordered the Eliza J. Chiffon Halter dress today! I’m really excited about it, and loved it on sight :) I’ll be wearing it as a wedding dress next June.
