Adorable (and Affordable!) Shoes for the Bride

by jaime on June 14, 2012

Brides used to get stuck with few options in the shoe department. We (and our poor, poor bridesmaids!) had a few styles of the dreaded Dyeables.

For those of you unaware of this heinous product, Dyeable shoes are exactly what you’d expect: these unattractive, satin-y shoes in a few styles (usually a strappy heel. That’s pretty much it.) that you could get dyed to match the colors of your wedding.

Lucky for ALL of us, those days are long gone. Sure, you can still find those ugly, overpriced and uncomfortable Dyeable shoes in your local Payless, but why go that route? For me and my other fashionable bride friends, there is now a world of options that don’t include discomfort or a lack of style. Check out a few of my favorites now!

Is it silly and/or selfish that I always like to start with the shoes that I’m thinking of getting? Either way, I’m addicted to Bloch flats, and there are a ton of options with the Alia Ballet Flat ($69 to $99, My favorites are at left, (top to bottom) Pewter, Briny Rose and Stone Blue. The last one even counts as your “Something Blue!”

And for more beautiful blue shoe options…

Badgley Mischka Goodie Heel in Sky Blue

Kate Spade New York Shelly Heel

Carlos by Carlos Santana Joplin Pump

The second fun option? Having your shoes match your decor. Whether you put your bridesmaids all in purple or your reception hall is decked out in an orange glow, you have so many choices! Here are four of my favorite color-friendly shoes that you can absolutely rock under that pretty white dress of yours!

Poetic Licence The Right Stripes Heel

CeCe L’amour Beatrix in Fuchsia and Purple

Badgley Mischka Wysdom II in Taupe

Type Z Vexa in Orange (also available in Champagne, Pink and Purple!)

And for the last group? All the women close to my own heart who can’t manage to rock a high, high heel at their wedding. There will be tons of dancing, after all, and who wants to spend their wedding day with sad, numb feet? Not I! Check out these adorable flats that work for your wedding and beyond!

Michael Kors Odell Flats in Gunmetal

BC Footwear Limousine in Multi Polka Dot (and available in a TON of other prints!)

Capezio Daisy Ballet Flat in Pink (so cheap and so comfy!)

If you’re already married, leave a comment and let us know what shoes you wore on your wedding day!

I LOVE those Badgley Mischka shoes and the purple ones in the main photo. My dress is going to have navy/dark blue and silver accents. Fun shoes are definitely a requirement!
