Our Wedding – New Updates!

by jaime on September 4, 2012

It’s update time – and we have some BIG ones!

1. I HAVE MY DRESS! Actually, I’ve had it for about two months now – no one has seen it on me in person though, so it’s still being kept a secret. AND I’m not going to tell you what it looks like or give you any sneak peeks – no way, no how! I might blog about everything having to do with the wedding, but this is staying secret. One thing that I will tell you though is where I bought it: from Nearly Newlywed. Can’t recommend this site enough!

2. I’m also pretty much set with accessories, thanks to the amazing folks over at G. Spinelli. They gave me these absolutely GORGEOUS earrings from their bridal collection – not only do that look stunning, they match my dress as if they were made for it. I cannot imagine a better option for my wedding day, and I highly recommend that you check them out.

3. We’re also totally set on venue, though we still have a few things to go through. Our wedding will be at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I found these gorgeous pictures of the venue on Pinterest, and while we’re going with a purple color scheme, it’s so awesome to see what they did with yellow (images via ArunaB.com):

4. I’m committed now to a rustic theme for the wedding, and one way we’ll be bringing that in is through the adorable escort tags that I was able to score from Etsy’s Abstract Averun. This lovely designer helped me find the perfect tags – now, I’ll be saving a big chunk of money by doing them myself. Expect to see a DIY coming soon where I’ll show you how I use them!

How is your wedding planning coming along?

Hey Jamie, I am so surprised to have found this post! Your wedding is looking amazing so far, I can not wait to see how your escort cards turn out. The earrings that you have for your big day, are STUNNING. I hope everything is going as planned, I am currently helping my future sister in law and brother with a Country-Barn themed wedding, with some rustic tweaks added in. There are so many different things you can include, I hope you have a great bridesmaid to pass the stress to. 😉

Thanks so much (and thank you again for the tags – you’re amazing!) – I’ll keep you updated as to how they come out!

Hey, I am getting married on the 29th of this month. One thing that I am doing for the kids (big and small) is a “Sugar Tree”. I am hanging candy and candy bars from a bush/tree with a chalkboard sign beside it that says “shake the sugar tree”. I got this idea from a Pam Tillis song called “Shake the Sugar Tree”. I wish you and your future hubby the best of luck!!

I’d LOVE to see pictures of your Sugar Tree!

Thank you for the well wishes – I know your wedding will be amazing and I cannot wait to hear more about it!
