The wedding cake is an important part of the big day, and one that can’t be overlooked.
I know that some of you are making your own cakes (or are lucky enough to have a talented family member make them, like me!), so when I saw this cake sizing breakdown, I knew it would come in handy. It’s not so helpful for those of you doing cake pops or cupcakes, but hey – you might throw a party one day and need to make a cake. So, it’s helpful in the long run!
The cool thing about this chart is that it helps you decide how you want to serve your cake and if you would rather do one large cake, multiple small cakes or a “show” cake for cutting and a sheet cake for guests.
While I think the idea of a cake per table is fun, I really prefer the two cake route: one all decorated and frosted to the nines for pictures and cake cutting, and a sheet cake (with the same flavors/frostings, of course!) that can be easily cut and served to guests.
